Orlando are going to be stuck in the 'not quite there' category for a while. Rashard, Jameer, Hedo good but just not quite there to be a real contender. It is on Howard's sizable shoulders how far they can get and his ability to miss less free throws.

They also needed a piece at the 2 spot which they drafted, we'll see how it all goes.

Top 3 for me since Detriot are going to not dominate as much imo. Probably second round, possibly ECF.

Philly, Boston and possibly Atlanta IMO are much better chances.

I think it might be in the conference finals
Boston Vs Toronto

&

New Orleans Vs Portland

& then Boston Vs Portland and Portland to take it out.

I can see us doing about the same as this year to be honest. And just a massive lol to naming Toronto to make the ECF.

I don't think they've improved in the off-season.

I think they will naturally be better because Dwight is getting better everygame and also its another year of playing together, so maybe 5-10 more wins this season but apart from that theyre not getting over the hump of Detroit/Boston/Cleveland perhaps even Toronto in my opinion.

In short, NO!

They are a good team in the East but they are not a genuine contender. They have no genuine PF or any front court help for Howard. He is good but he can't do it all by himself.

I'd say you are a shot, but alot of things would have to go right for you at the business end of the season. But I would predict that you would be about the same as last season, but you never know.

As for Toronto - lol.

As for Portland - lol.

But anyway.

Wow quite the lack of knowledge and logic there. Nice work.

A lot will depend on Pietrus and how well he plays but even if he is no good still the 4th best team in the East at worst, regardless of the natural improvement that will come from Dwight.

IIRC we are relying on Tony Battie to come good................... And Fran to come over

I actually have quite a bit of knowledge. I know it was an overestimate to think Toronto will make the ECF's but I really think they will be a finals chance next season with a list of

Calderon
Parker/Kapono
Moon
Bosh
Jermaine/Bargnani

&

Portland with

Blake/Bayless
Roy
Webster/Outlaw
Aldridge/Frye/Diogu
Oden/Pryzibilia

And the Atlanta comment??

Portland are 1/2 years away from having a realistic shot.

Portland are a few years away, Atlanta are not even going to make the play-offs.

Toronto have got a pretty good team, not sure about contenders but they have good inside presence and a good outside shooters. I'm expecting Kapono to have a breakout year and win Most Improved Player.

Shot themselves in the foot with the Rashard Lewis signing. He was clearly not worth as much as 20 mil a season. For that money they could have had a shot at Monta Ellis, Josh Smith, Baron Davis or even Elton Brand if they had of just waited a year

Hmm interesting, i see a lot of people think that with our current team, Howard is just not going to be enough to win the NBA title. So i have to ask what areas would we need to improve to win?

You need a quality guard. You're undersized and underskilled in the backcourt at both spots.

You need someone who can penetrate and either create their own shot or create for others.

A guy like Baron Davis would be ideal at the PG spot - because none of Shard/Hedo or Dwight need the ball to be effective.

The problem is the salary situation - you've given way too much for Shard.

Get rid of Lewis. Somehow.

You got better production from a guy on MLE money.

That signing will kill them. I have been following the NBA for 12 years, and that was by far the worst signing Ive even seen

Its pretty bad. Still, Eric Dampier was worse. Not because of the money involved, but because Cuban wasn't prepared to give Nash 60 mil, and said he had to be traded for salary reasons... then goes and blows 70 mil on Eric Dampier.
