I think a lot depends on our next 3 games. Port, Swans and the Dees. We pinch 2 of them then top 4 will still be on the cards, Jack, Cotch, Houli will be back and we'd be sitting at 3-3. Optimistic I know, pinching one is more realistic, sit at 2-4 with Jack, Cotchin and Houli back in and hopefully from there we can build momentum. Lose all 3, it's not over but it'll be tough. One game at a time, need to win one of the next 3 tomorrow is our first opportunity.

I think we'll end up in the eight, more likely we'll slot in somewhere 5-8 when all is said and done

Absolutely.
However any future loses need to be competitive, 2-3 goals max.
Loses to date are killing our percentage which becomes lot harder to recover at the back end of the year.
Once JR, DM & Cotchy return feel we have the belief to get a roll on.

I doubt Port are much good, the form around them is not looking strong. But this was a tremendous win by the Tigers and we seemed to get a lot of intercept possessions despite Rance's absence. Broad did sneakily well keeping taller opponents quiet tonight. The move to shift Edwards back has given the team a completely different dynamic that it may take opponents a little while to figure out. He and Stack in defence are very clever in close.

Let's hope the Martin who comes into the team next week is better than the Martin of the first three rounds, because he is likely to replace someone who was useful tonight. Houli for Menadue should have a positive effect. Cotchin and Riewoldt to return soon after and selection will get very interesting when they come back. It was very enjoyable watching the newer players tonight and some pretty positive early signs in the VFL team as well.

We often gave up more possessions but it wasnt by well over 100 a game, and we were also getting a much better spread of input from all players than we are this year
“Than we are this year” You are basing this on a 2 game sample size against 2 very good sides in giants and pies where we copped injuries to key players during the game coupled with being down on form? Yesterday was our best win outside the 2017 final series in years. On the back of a total team commitment to pressure, tackle and run and carry the ball that had us as the best team for the last 2 seasons. If you can’t see how yesterday’s game could be a season defining match you really don’t know much about the game.
