I am very confused over exactly what sort of GF ticket allocation is give to 14 non-participating clubs.

"All 16 clubs are guaranteed 1500 GF tickets, with 800 coming as part of the four-match series ticket allocation. Those 1500 are absorbed internally."

What exactly is the "four-match series ticket allocation"???

So that makes 700 tickets available to the GF to each club?? Hmmmmm if that is the case the dirty bastards never sell em to us!!! Must be that god almighty corporate dollar weilding it's cane again!

Of course it is. Each club gets an allocation that they give out as they choose. They give them to corporate sponsors (ever wonder how radio stations always have tickets to give away?), club officials etc. 24,000 tickets that should be for the members of the two competing clubs. No wonder there's so little atmosphere compared to days gone by.

Yeah - but what is this 4 match series allocation thingy? Had it said 4 weeks, I would have just assumed over the finals series a guarenteed number of tickerts per club for each final. But I have no idea what they are talking about that takes 800 of the 1500 tickets.

The series ticket is a ticket that lets people get into one match during each week of finals. The only thing is that the AFL get to pick which match is the "series ticket" match. This week it's the North Melbourne vs Melbourne game and last week it was the Carlton vs Brisbane game. I often come across people who get in using these tickets, but I have no idea how Joe Public can buy them.
