Can Tarrant get a Coleman?

As much as I'd like to believe I doubt he will ever kick enough goals. He's just not that sort of forward but that's what I like about him.
I think Malthouse has to put him back at CHF and leave Rocca or Walker at FF. As long as he kicks his 50-odd goals a year then he's done his job.

Tarrant has only two aspects that let him down - passion and kicking - in the match against Carlton last week - he actually did have those aspects, and it resulted in 5 straight goals and respect from the supporters and media.

He is capable of winning a Coleman if he does that every week - so I doubt it.

Agree. He has said he'd love to play on the wing one day. He's been filling in at FF. One we have Fraze and Richards back to ruck, I assume Cam will go to CHF (perhaps Travis will rival him for that next year) with Rocca to FF and Taz at HFF doing the wanders (occasionally changing at FF as Rocca goes bam-bam in the ruck now and then).

With Egan and Davidson to come ahead and help in the forward set up, I think we'll benefit by not tying Taz to a FF spot or Coleman expectation.

As for his supposed lacking passion, it must be hard to retain passion when these boards off-season are full off rumours that he'll be traded to Geelong for a midfielder or to West Coast for Judd.

Like Mark Waugh let's let him enjoy his passion for the horsies and a glorious unbelievable cameo or quick run down the flank/wing, and not expect him to be Steve Waugh grinding away to a Coleman ton. We have Ant for that when the youngsters can take his responsibility over at CHF.

As Richardson has proven in the past talent is not all u need to make it to the Coleman...Hard work,mongrel and a desire to overcome your limitations will get u a coleman. Taz lacks in too many areas...

Tarrant was pretty consistant in 2004 when he played and VERY consistant in 2003 in his AA year.
At Tarrants best he will take 15 marks, kick 5 to 7 goals and set up about 5 other goals.
He is not a true full forward, in fact I would say he plays more like a CHF even though he starts deep in the forward line. Tarrant and Rocca switch who goes up the ground a fair bit.
