Am I the only one who considers Nicks one of the worst coaches in the league ?

Nicks has areas he could improve but nowhere near worse.

I wouldn’t be swapping Nicks for Brad Scott or Voss for starters.

Seems to have a game plan that matches it with the best teams. Rarely loses by more than a few goals.

Now he has the list, time will tell if he can take the team to next level.

I disagree that the crows have no finals experience. Crows still have blokes from the 2015 to 2017 finals era.

Guys like Tex Walker, Rory Laird, and Wayne Milera played in finals wins and in that 2017 AFL Grand final.

Don't think Wayne played in any finals back in 2016-17.

Think it's Walker, Laird, Mrouch, and Smith as far as Crows finals experience goes. Then there's the trade ins - Cumming, Peatling, Dawson, ANB.

Just looked it up. Yep you were right. Wayne Milera didn't play one final In 2016-7

Any reasons why not? One of those sides is 3rd right now...

They are in the fight for it, not lock ins. Sure.

Hawks are strong but not super convincing, Bulldogs are good, but not strong without Weightman and Darcy up front. GWS are struggling to kick it to a player wearing their colour at the moment, but could pick up in the 2nd half of the year.

Gold Coast have a Collingwood, Adelaide, Brisbane Stretch in July which will be interesting as their last 4 is fairly pedestrian.

Fremantle are 7 wins and just beat the Suns away.
North, Essendon, Saints and Sydney with 2 at home to come over the next 4 weeks.
If they go anything but 4-0 or 3-1 in that stretch, sure, they're out of top 4 contention

Adelaide goes to Launceston for the Hawks, then after the bye their away games are against the Richmond at the G, Bulldogs at Marvel, West Coast in Perth, and North at Marvel. No Ballarat or Hobart trip.

Hawks last month is Adelaide, Collingwood, Melbourne, Lions.

The top 3 could well be a 20-3 to 18-5 (or 17-5-1 in Brisbane's case) but 4th could be that sneaky 15-8 sort thing where they are just ahead of 5th-9th.

Well here's the thing. You are a crows fan and I am a dockers fan.

I know your optimistic about crows making finals.

But my mindset is totally different to yours.

Crows are top 4 now. Crows have a bye at round 15. After that, the crows season truly opens up . They could get top 4 and a preliminary final.

But I see them finish 5th like the dockers in 2022 and get a long overdue finals win.

Dockers could get top 4. But my confidence is still dented from last season.

Dockers were top 4 with 4 games left. Then 4 narrow losses send Freo outside the top 8.

You should be "Freosanity" :moustache:

Thats right, we all dont know what the rest of the season will be like, like Carlton in 2023 they came from microwaved memberships to being 5 goals to 1 in a prelim final and the AFL almost blew their jocks off at the thought of a Blues Pies GF.

Thats a fair point about losing the last 4 games, that was basically a disaster for Freo at the end of 2024... That Essendon game almost rattled the club a bit.

For 17 teams, "going all the way" in 2025 means earning the right to be beaten by Collingwood in the grand final.

The chasm between the Pies and every other team is massive. The only thing that can beat them this year is an off-the-charts performance against them in the Prelim, ala the Pies themselves vs Richmond in 2018.

That said, the Crows are as likely as anyone else to be runners up this year.
Lol. This time last year the same could be said about Sydney.

Well the Essendon game where we lost by a point started it. Josh Tracy who kicked 45 goals from 20 games at that got injured too.

Dockers would of made finals I. 2024 had we beaten Essendon.

Then followed a narrow loss to cats at home. Then a narrow loss to GWS away then losing to Port at home to end the season.

2 prelim and a semi finalist to finish the season... ouch.
