Those people aren't invested in any player nor the league, they just pretend to be when they want to pile on. And yes I'm in tears about it.

High profile players doing mundane things should not garner more "attention" (i.e. character assassination) than low profile players doing idiotic things.

And the double standard is omnipresent, not just from one corner of the internet. See comments from Players' Association CEO Paul Marsh:

One AFLW player publicises her own anti-vaccination beliefs on social media: "Please respect her privacy"
Another AFLW player is criticised for baseless rumours about her salary: "........."

Ooh good one.
Do you not understand how the world works?

People that have a higher public profile, garner more attention for everything they do.

Old mate next door might be an anti-vaxxer too, but given no one knows their name, it's not going to gather a whole lot of commentary.

It's a weird position you're trying to argue.

Nadia Bartel snorting a line of cocaine off a plate wouldn't have been a big news story if she was Nadia Smith, ex-wife of Joe Smith the local mechanic.

People who choose to live their life in the public eye, who actively pursue the spotlight in order to make a career, receive more public commentary on everything they do, good or bad.

Are you upset that Harris copped criticism, or are you upset that Varnhagen isn't copping more criticism?

Harris did nothing wrong but many people who claim to be close followers of the league concocted reasons to criticise her.

Those same people who claim to be close followers of the league haven't said anything about Varnhagen even though her actions actually are worthy of criticism.

So I'm just pointing out the hypocrisy--not of those who admit their ignorance, but of those who misrepresent themselves.

So you're upset that people aren't getting angry enough at Varnhagen?

Thread is poorly titled, and the OP is somewhat misguided.

The question should be asked whether AFLW players can be forced to take a vaccine, not a relatively unknown one.

And no the thread wouldnt have got to 20 pages, we'd have shut down any thread that resorted to vitriolic responses. You couldnt even wait for that, you launched off with an advance strike against a non existent response.

Im going to lock this, and you can try again with a less volatile OP if you like.
