I am a swans fan but I am interested to see what everyone thinks, they are a game outside the 8, do they have a hope in hell in making it?? I hope, what do you think?

Look at this way Ben

There are 9 games left in the H&A season
Swans record at the moment is 5-8.
The Swans need to win 7 out of the remaining 9 games this season to get into the finals. Although 11 wins could do it (like last year) but then you start to rely on other results going your way in these kinds of scenarios.

Can we do it ?

Given our form at the moment you have to say no - but look closer at our remaining games and you can see some cause for optimism.

Our remaining games are

Essendon h
Fremantle a
St Kilda h
W Coast h
Melbourne a
Collingwood a
North h
Richmond a
Geelong a

With the exception of Essendon I believe all of these teams are beatable but for the Swans to make it there has to be a pretty dramatic late season turn-around form-wise. Last Sunadys effort was our best game since Round 2 and if we keep playing like that there is absolutely no reason why we can't win 7 out of these remaining games.

We are down at the moment Ben thats for sure but our remaing draw gives us cause for hope I think.

Servo - would you believe you are not the only one who gives the Swans a chance on Sunday ?

I was prepared to at least believe the Swans would be able to keep Essendon 'honest' but with Dunkley rubbed out I don't really give my team much of a chance at all I'm afraid.

Just too much skill generally all over the ground for us to be able to contain them methinks. If the Swans have any chance at all, we will have to get down and dirty, try to put pressure on the Bombers disposal skills and just generally tag and scrag them out of it. The small ground will help here too.

But realistically I think we are just going to be another statistic in an all-conquering season for Essendon.

If we can keep the margin below 30 points then I think we would have played well.

The ladder so far looks great! Even Fremantle (14th) are a game behind out of the 8, however I think that they will miss out even if they do win, due to their shocking percentage.

I think the next 4 rounds will definately shape who will be there in August / September 2
