DC isn't exactly on his own in bagging players. There are a few others who constantly bag players. I hope no one complaining has ever bagged a player because it's not as though it never happens here.

There is a big difference in bagging a player for something specific, in the context of a discussion either about that player or about the incident/skills in question.

It's another to constantly inject your thoughts on a particular player into threads on other players, or otherwise unrelated topics, just to stir some shit.

It's a public forum BW - people are entitled to their own opinions.

Yes and he's not the only one who does that all the time.

Sure, but the point is that nutcase8888 has been cautioned for this type of posting, and was banned for a period.........just wondering what the difference is in the eyes of the mods.

As I said fair play to the lad and as I posted at the time of the Doggies and Port games. You always need soldiers to support the guns and he is a solid squad player. Personally I would have used the two games he stitched up Cornes and the half on Johnstone that probably saved his career as examples of him doing a good job as well:thumbsu::)

I don't think you are getting how DC was using him though:D

I think you completely missed the part where I actually rate Bannister in our best 18, the role he can play in the side is vital for us.

If the opposition have a key forward getting on top of a defender, Banno can easily be moved onto him, Banno has a midfielders engine, so he can easily run with a player, he can also play on a small forward, his versatility makes him a very, very good player, and we'll need him this season. Guaranteed.

Precisely why I started a thread on Walker, rather than just bagging him in a totally unrelated thread.

I don't rate Walker in our best 22, let alone out best 18. At the stage we are in right now, we need players who aren't flashy, aren't brilliant, but who wont turn the ball over, we need assured players who just go about their job.

And Walker doesn't just go about his job?

He is one of our most reliable defenders. Can play tall, rarely gives away goals and can rotate through the midfield.

I rate Bannister don't get me wrong, but putting him in your best 22 ahead of Walker is just ridiculous!

No, Walker doesn't just go about his job.

He tries for MOTY every game, never takes it, I'd hardly call him a reliable defender, he gives the ball away far too often, admittedly not in defence, normally when trying to start an attack, which is our downfall, and then the defence get caught out as they try and break up the field to aid in the attack.

Maybe, in the future if Walker gets his kicking and handballing skills up to scratch, he could force his way into my best 22, but at the moment, there isn't room for him (even if he was fully fit)

Walker is definitely in an unenviable position.
Not only because of his bad luck with injury, but also
if the blues start to win consistently as a unit.
If so, i think he might struggle to get back in off the bat.

Couldn't disagree more. Who would keep Andrew Walker out of the team?

Gees DC, that's not like you to exaggerate

Walker's downfall is his decision making. At times he also lacks awareness of opponents, as does Bannister (remember the Collingwood game and him being run down twice due to lack of awareness.)

I am not saying Walker is perfect but you only have to look at his game against Port Adelaide and Western Bulldogs last year to see that, when he is on his game, HE IS ON HIS GAME!!

Walker > Bannister any day of the week.

who knows mate.... players have a happy knack of stepping
up outta of the shadows.... particularly when teams are on the rise.
I watched fife play against port and he looked really good.
Maybe someone else ... I dunno.
My point is he's got a long road back and if the boys
are doing well and he's under done he 'MIGHT' struggle.
Against popular opinion I actually think DC is close
to the money on this one.....

I'd steer clear of agreeing with me if I was you, it might not be your best move.

If it was 40 degrees outside and not a cloud in the sky, I could start a thread saying "right now, outside... the sky is blue" and people would challenge my opinion. It's just because normally I go against popular opinion, like when basically, since he arrived at Carlton, I challenged Josh Kennedy's potential and ability, yet (most, not all) swore black and blue he'd be a gun at Carlton, but the simple fact is, his lack of ability and talent, coupled with Carlton's inability to work with the kids and turn them into great AFL players was going to be his downfall, yet no-one else could see that.

To be honest I'd sit around with my carlton buddies and watch
the game and we'd always cringe when walker came swooping in.
Not at first. At first we loved him...'how's this guy'? etc etc.
But over the years i think he's cost us as much as he's helped out.
For me its just his disposal....as you pointed out.
I like his effort and endeavour towards the pill.....but there's
miles of space between good intention and actual good effect.
It's apples with apples.... lets see; walker v gibbs.
Both high picks, both highly anticipated. Lets see how ol'
Gibbsy going in 2 years. Think about it.

What utter tosh. For a kick-off you have contradicted yourself. I spent thread after thread last season pleading to know why JK was so assuredly going to make it and got classified as a poor supporter and a knocker of the kids for it. You keep spouting on that you are some sort of maverick because you go against the flow of opinion. Ah newsflash, plenty of people go against popular opinion on here, you're really not that special.

I will always defend your right to say your piece but please, lose the pedestal.

You guys could team up...be the Bash Brothers :p

Oh wait, DC's brother already posts on here...

Seriously people, DC does know a thing or two about footy and is quite a regular at training, so he's definitely a Blues supporter, not a troll.

He may have high expectations of players and give scathing criticism, sometimes unwarranted, but for the most part, he's a shock jock and lives by the publicist's axiom -'any publicity is good publicity'.

He only needs to start a thread and sit back and watch people flock in to defend their precious players, and so many posters play right into his hands.

Accept or ignore people, but enough crying about it...he is after all the Master Baiter :p

The funny thing is you still could both be wrong....:)

Who launched this attack with a perfectly placed kick after cutting off an attack by the Doggies?

If he gives it away far too often, his accuracy would be below fifty per cent.

Walker also took a big mark and converted for a goal in that victory.

You either know absolutely nothing about football.

Or you're just acting like a dick to get attention and fish by acting like a critic who calls it as he sees it.

"A little from column A, a little from column B."

Heaven help us if we cut this player from our list.

Waite's disposal and decision making is worse than Walker's, yet he hardly gets a mention.

Walker just needs to be coached out of burning out of defence at full tilt until he has nowhere to go and no time to think.

It seems he was instructed under Pagan to run as far and as fast as he could out of the backline. This is where/when most of his poor decisions are made.

It should be a problem that can be ironed out, and then he can become a high quality player.
