I'll boo the GWS team as they run out, and I'll boo the defender taking the kickouts for the first few behinds until I get over it, and I may boo a few set shots from GWS players along the way, if they come from dodgy ump decisions or non decisions. Other than that, I won't be booing, and I definetely won't be booing Lids every time he has the ball.
:pHow many of those shots from free kicks will you judge as fair?

250 games is not going to see losing fans hang around to cheer him after he just helped end that teams season. If Richmond are done early 90% of their fans will not be there at the end so not sure why you would expect they cheer him off.
I dodn't think Richmond fans generally had a rep for leaving early? I do get this is new territory for a lot of their younger fans.

The 5 to 10,000 hearty souls will stay to the end and probably be crying, bless their hearts. But the big amount of bandwagoners will be out the door before you know it, once it goes pear shaped. Nothing surer.

Other than the start of the game and the general "boo the umpires call", I won't boo for the sake of booing.
I may however, give a few Boo-urns here and there.
I rarely do. I did last Saturday night when Toby copped a head high tackle.
BTW Jacob apparently loves references to his red hair, you could consider loud cries of bloodnut every time he touches the ball.*

No club announces at the start of the year it's expecting a poor season. Would it not be fair to say to not many predicted the Tigers as a genuine top 4 side?
Damian Hardwick said it on On the couch at the end of last year, it's why everybody in the media laughed at him.

Brett Deledio plays game number 250 on Saturday in the Prelim against the Tigers. Hopefully.he'll make it to 300 over the coming years but who knows.

I think you've got to feel a little for the guy celebrating this milestone against the Tiger army in their first Preliminary final since well, yonks. He will be necessarily the enemy to the club he gave 12 years of service, while in his first year and 7th game at his new club.

Briefly his career so far includes being taken as the number one draft pick in 2004. Debuted at 17 and played all 22 games in his first year, a rare achievement.
Rising star in 2005 and fulfilled that promise over the next 11 years as a stalwart and key player for the RFC.

It's the nature of the competition not to honour the opposition while there's a game to be won, but I hope there's time after the game for the crowd and the players to acknowlege his achievement whatever the result.
Sadly he's new to our club and while we've certainly adopted him, we dont know him that well yet.
There was a time when we couldnt win without him. There will be boos but nothing unusual i wouldnt think.

Why was Deledio a dick?

He was always one of my favourite Tigers, and always took him as a humble, down to earth bloke?
Apparently started to become listless and disruptive over the last few seasons - hey lack of success will do that to you

Was harsh on the young blokes to the point where they didnt want to be around him, which created a rift in the playing group - the degree of which on a scale of minor to significant is debatable.

Reliably informed the club was happy to let him go and even pay some of his wages

Was very sad he was leaving but glad he did as much right as he could by helping secure as high of a pick for him as he could.....until some of the rumours about him in regards to the 2016 season and his behaviour came out. Lost a lot of respect for him due to some specific alleged behaviour

I really don't know how to feel about him.
Anything you can elaborate on mate?

Richmond fans can be accused of many things, but fair-weather or band-wagoners, no. Stupid to show such loyalty to a club after such a long period without success, that would be a fair call

Carlton fans are another story altogether...

Imagine how Jacob Townsend must be feeling coming up against his old team as well.
Bit different I think. We have had to live with a reducing list size and players leaving since our inception. I think we always knew it would happen. Tommy Bugg was in our rooms after the semi win joining in the celebrations for example.
I want him to do well :Din a losing side

Yeah I do like to think we stay to the end, even if it’s just to spit on the players as they walk off :p. Once when we got belted by north in 2013 some of our supporters started leaving early and a few of us got stuck into them for leaving early. No question though that if you’ve got the game wrapped up early, some (in fact many by laws of probability) will leave early.

You shouldnt judge all teams on what happens at Carlton.
