The club stats vary from what other sources give. I do think it is definition of what a tackle is.
It's a oointless discussion. I will only say that I follow our guys closely, and while I'd welcome a guy like Townsend ( I'm aware of the irony but he's not the mid we traded anymore) I just dont believe defensive pressure is the issue. Fluency if ball movement is holding us back.
I'm pretty bullish about next year and with a stable playing grouo that will sort itself out. This year you were too good, enjoy.
Those figures came from the AFL app. A lack of output from your small forwards was noticeable today, not a lot of pressure, goals or tackles. Most goals set up by the midfield delivering to the forwardline.

Whilst he got booed when the gws players came out, After the final siren there were alot of tiger supporters that were clapping him off after his 250

Will always be a Tiger champ and will be welcomed back after he rinses the orange stain of his body

Just my 2 cents. Loved the guy for his career in yellow and black. An absolute jet and one of the best we've had at the club in the modern era. Helped give us a glimmer of hope during some of the leanest years in the club's recent history. When he left last year, I was very sad but could understand his reasons. I even recall posting on the GWS facebook page after it was done (usually don't venture onto other club's pages) saying I wished him the best and hoped he'd get the flag he deserved. I booed him a few times today, not out of spite but because he was an opposition player now and no player is bigger than the club. I booed other GWS players when things got tense to try and unnerve them or because the ball was in the hands of an antagonistic player (Greene and SJ).

I felt sorry for Lids at the final siren. I still love the guy and wish him nothing but success (hope he can get to 300). Just not when he is playing against my club and not given what was on the line for both sides. Clapped him (and Stevie J) off at the final siren and I have nothing but nice things to say about Lids. My scorn is temporary but my love is eternal. Suspect other Tigers would be similar.

One of my favourite Tigers ever and just hasn't had a crack at it lately. Was never going to win the race to get up to full speed this year. Needs to get through a pre-season if he's going to contribute anything of significance.

200th - win over GWS
250th - loss to Richmond

Still our talisman.

He's young enough to have a few goes. It's a bit sad he won't be there grand final day though.

It's a bit like Griff and to be fair I bear Griff no ill will. Both left dire circumstances. In the end if they win one and he doesn't it'll be pretty crap.

I felt bad for Lids after the siren, I booed him but he did have a press conference saying he'd be disappointed if we didn't boo so I was just giving him what he wanted.

He's not cooked imo but he needs a solid pre season, he hasn't had it for 2 years and I worry that gws will cook him quicker now. Felt that he shouldn't have played this year for them.

Yeah, thanks for clarifying - I thought it was more than a simple quest for glory - I thought the tiges wanted some cap relief too, and it was pretty mutual.
My understanding was that we knew Butler and Castagna etc were showing decent things at VFL and felt Lids body was starting to fail so we told him that we would entertain trading him if he was open to it and asked him to enquire to several clubs and make a decision from there.

It was mutually agreed that the club would be best served if Lids moved on.

It's an odd decision to move on a club stalwart, but not necessarily a bad one. To me it smacks of Hawthorns trading of Mitchell and Lewis a bit. I think the Hawks are smart traders so that's not criticism.
I'm happy with the trade at that this point and despite some opinions to the contrary, to me the success or failure of the trade from our point of view will unfold next year.
There's no doubt if you listen to Adrian Caruso we targeted Mature playets last year because of a view our list was overloaded with youngsters.
To those in this thread suggesting he screwed up in terms of flag success I would just issue a word of caution, it remains to be seen.
All we know right now is he's missed an opportunity to play in a GF for the Tigers this year by leaving.

Was very sad he was leaving but glad he did as much right as he could by helping secure as high of a pick for him as he could.....until some of the rumours about him in regards to the 2016 season and his behaviour came out. Lost a lot of respect for him due to some specific alleged behaviour

I really don't know how to feel about him.
I heard the rumor too then lost any respect I had for him, apparently he gave a young tiger a very hard time who was having depression issues and is no longer at the club. No don't feel sorry him one iota, he left the club for selfish issues now the karma bus has come around. He can get stuffed for all i care.

He is a Tiger for life IMO. I don't give a rat's about his ignominious coda at the Giants. Will always be my favourite player ever and couldn't help but shed a tear for a man that absolutely carried the club on his shoulders for the best part of 10 years.

Booed the shit out of him and here's why,

1. Club first, club always first.

2. He left chasing premiership success. Integrity is sticking with us through thick and thin and he didn't. He requested a trade to Geelong, remember? The only other flog to leave Richmond for Geelong was Brad Ottens. And at the qualifying final there he was in his Geelong scarf. **** that shit.

3. I still like him and won't ever boo him, during normal season games. This game meant more than any individual. And he was booed to curb his influence, put him off, because remember we've seen him at his best. Deledio at his best is frightening.

4. He'll never be a Richo, but if Cotch, Rance, Martin, Riewoldt, etc win next week. They'll be.

5. I don't think we could have done it with him IN our team. The part that upsets me is that he looks cooked and he did deserve better. Real
Tragedy.

Our society are such shit stirrers though. He was booed because he left. Not because of race, colour, same sex marriage opinion, ginger, etc.
