If we play any where near what we did in the last two weeks we will get absolutely thrashed. Can we beat them, yeah for sure we can. Will we beat them, yeah I think we just might. If all the players that we over rate so heavily perform. If Rocca can get his head out of his arse and do something, and if between now and then TAZ learns how to kick for goal and if between now and then we grow some balls and if between now and then our general possesion improves IE certain individuals learn how to kick then we will win.

DREAMER, WHAT A BLOODY DREAMER, NOW U PUT UR HANDS IN THE AIR, OH YEH, I SAY DREAMER.....

Our forwards are better than Carltons weakened backline. Our backline is in good enough form to stop Fevola and Whitnall (depending upon how good delivery is into them). But I dont know how we can win enough of the ball in the middle to win the game. If the midfield can sharpen their skills and accountability we'll win, but there was scant evidence on Sunday of that.

on the other hand, our defence is our weakest link

If it wasnt for the defence on Sunday the margin would have been scary. If the delivery into the forward line is quicker and more accurate, then nothing Carlton have can stop our forwards. Malthouse was 100% accurate when he said we xlaughtered Taz. If that improves, then we'll win. If not, we lose. Simple as that.

We can beat them but expectations are low for me (well they always are even when we are in good form for some reason).
If we can have at least average disposal our forward line should hold out Carltons depleted backline.
Cole or Clement will take Betts, Presti will take Fevola and Whitnall will get Wakelin although the latter two can switch. Walker/Maxwell will take the 3rd tall.
Hopefully Maxwell is back so Walker/C.Cloke can go forward and push the carlton defenders.

CAN WE BEAT THE BLUES

If we can kick straight, we will have a chance, but if it is 2.6 at Quarter Time we will not get close.

There is still hope for us Pies to get the 4 points on Saturday, but not too much hope after a very poor fortnight.

Players need to step up like Rocca and Tarrant, while we have to stop Kouta getting centre clearances. Benny Johnson and Paul Licuria need to work as hard as they did, but need to be more productive, and Rhyce Shaw can now find it, he needs to spend decent time training with somebody and learn how to kick.

Pies have a chance, but it will be hard to beat the Blue Baggers. French and Kouta as the Ruck, Ruck Rover duo. Fevola and Whitnall both powerhouses up forward, and Nick Stevens, Heath Scotland and Matthew Lappin all valuable.

We can stretch there defence - even if Livingston comes back because there is no Thornton, and only a Morrell. Rocca and Tarrant should find the ball but need to kick straight.

Let me just say this, we are better than Carlton, but we are weakened by injury, as they are. Problem is ours is in the middle where it counts

IF Presti stops Whitnall, Wakes stops Fevola, we are halfway there.

HOWEVER, the way we have been playing then not a chance

The one thing that worries me is there is no one in our side capable of stopping a little ******** like Betts who will likely kick 5 against us like every other forward pocket in the league has done. If we let an old, past it pile of ******** McLeod rip us apart, so should Betts

As long as we drop Cole, Williams then we are on the way. Question is who to replace them with. Would be tempted to bring Travis in for his first game, wont happen but it would be a tempting move. Can ruck allowing Rocca to stay forward all day. Allows us to keep 3 talls all day, Cam, Trav and Tex to stretch their injury riddled defence.

Need to play Burns, Lockyer, Holland all forward alongside Davis and Caracella as they are the best players at getting in the packs and getting the ball when it drops. Kick long to the 3rd tall in the square, put a crumber or 2 at his feet and we should kick a few more goals. Need Taz up the field as our midfield is incapable of kicking to a target, Taz is the only one who can.

If Taz, Rocca fire but so do Fev, WHitnall a shootout they will win. If we shutdown Fev, Whitnall whilst Taz, Rocca fire we will win

BUT to win, we need to thump them, wont win a close match ever again. Wouldnt mind a fight to show they still care

haha ... love this sentence

like saying "if our team plays well and their team plays well, they will win. If they play worse and we play better, we will win"

You guys are too negative. Incase you haven't noticed Carlton have only played one good quarter of football all season. Us blue boys are yet to find our Wizard Cup winning form and until we do, we are as vulnerable as any side going around. It's not easy winning games without a backline, believe me!

For Sure - Our over-rated forward line vs under-manned defence - Great Dual to find out who will win wither a boring  or great :) match
