Those who think that our defense (our weakest position, easily) doesn't need work are delusional. While having a much better midfield will help ease the burden, that doesn't mean we should assume this will be the magical wand to our defensive woes and it certainly doesn't mean we should ignore it either.

Midfield pressure can only go so far... they will be needing to win every battle to block the weakness (which they won't).

Having Judd though, will help ease the pressure off some of your younger players and allow them the chance to develop. Maybe this has been a hindrance in the past? Younger players shouldering too much responsibility?

It's only a part of the problem.

Adding one player, no matter how good he is, isn't going to magically fix our defensive problems because they are bigger than that.

We haven't had any problems beating your mob. The ONLY time you've beaten us in the last couple of years was because we were tanking. We'll be twice the outfit next year.

No doubting the dons aren't in the best shape but they only lost 2 matches over 50 points this year and the only 100 point loss in 2006 was to the crows when they were at their best. despite that I can see the reason for optimism 11 straight losses is the perfect build up for a season to destroy teams

Does he need someone to slam the ball down his throat each week?

If Carrazzo can get as much of the ball as Priddis roving to losing rucks and one of our first midfielders, I don't think Judd will struggle like dumb arse trolls believe.

Cloke, Ackland and the developing Hampson, Aisake and probably Kreuzer will ruck next year.

I think you should be worried more about who is going to step up and replace Judd.

I think we will finish higher than fourteenth.

I think we will beat Essendon, Richmond, Footscray and be competitive against clubs like Collingwood and Port next year if our midfield and forwards fire.

I think we will upset a few sides next year.

A settled back six is the most thing and we need to keep Setanta at CHB or FB.

Our biggest improvement in 08 will be the midfield, not talking about the rucks hopefully Hampson will step up and I am pretty sure going into 09 we will have a ruck division the envy of all. Our back line is crying out for a class full back and maybe even a CHB we get those two things together and I can see us being a very powerful team.

I never said anything about how well essendon are going to go, merely that carlton will not dominate any team next year
