I wish no one had invented the term 'Premiership Window'. It has now become patented just like 'Road Rage'.
Your favourite characteristics known as upside and potential are the worst terms. You risk passing on a gun who will play 200 games for a flighty player who can look good on his day, but is inconsistent and lacks footy smarts. Henderson and Kennedy will have more consistent careers than Waite and Ryder. Lloyd couldn't soccer freak goals over his head like Fevola, but is the "boring", but consistent superstar you need to win a flag and build around.

also saw that GWS have access to more 17 year old kids next year, so that they can trade them for even more picks in the draft !!! what is this, be kind to sheedy time ??? as far as i can remember, GOLD COAST was able to pick 12 17 year olds, but they kept them, not got more picks for them!!! how many benefits are these Sheedy pr*cks getting....good old "MR D" and his new pets from NSW.
I think sheedy is playing games again

Do we really need them? I'm starting to realise that a strong list management team is more important than draft position. For example, over the past 2 years teams like Carlton and Geelong have drafted much better talent than low finishing teams like Brisbane, Richmond and Port despite having a weaker draft position, just because they make better choices. I guess the top-5 draft picks have a very high chance of being very good players, but from 10 to 30 the odds seem pretty much the same too me.

Player development is very important - and Collingwood & Geelong have shown the way in that department over the past 5 years.

Its been very important to have our Senior Assistant Coach Alan Richardson's input on our Player Development Program over the past 2 years - this will take a few more seasons to bear fruit.

However having said that it will be important to try and trade into the first round (for an additional pick) if we can for the 2012 National Draft.

Thats been happening for more than 2 years there Parrot.

As you remind our friends over at Punt road each year without fail!
Taking Conca over Heppell was their latest little gem. Bizarro. And then they blame their current situation on "bad luck". They're an unusual organisation.
