Yes I've made myself scarce from this joint over the last few days - Sunday's game hurt really bad as we had the team to beat Essendumb and we put ourselves in a winning position. Still, credit where it's due - they wanted to win more than we did. We looked weak and at times didn't seem to be playing as a team.

Anyway, back to the point to this thread!

I guess I had my hopes up that after sitting through the ugly biased Tony Shaw and his mafia mob at Channel 10, I was hoping that come Cometti magic on Channel 9 would be a better alternative.

What do we get? Houston/Boston Crabb opening the show with his smirky look and then introducing Brian Taylor who was the 'expert'.

The 'expert' who is good mates with Brad Hardie (say no more) said in the opening quarter "This kick will really test Haynes, I don't think he can make the distance."

What did Haynes do? He kicked it straight through the big sticks. To try and squeeze himself our of the situation he started asking Cometti about Haynes and his background (as if Haynes was a new player making his debut).

steve_rat had a go at the ABC commentators for the game, and 6PR were covering their advertisements with the Perth Glory game.

Am I going crazy?

That's interesting about Haynes because in the Crows West Coast game he kicked a set shot bout 70 metres and Dennis said "take not of that" or something similar.

FWIW Eddie Dermie and Dwayne were very good for the Crows Geelong game I thought.

"BT" really ****ed me off. Not a good commentator.

Didnt really have an issue with the others.

Is it just me or is Dennis Cometti trying a little too hard to come up with witty remarks? It almost seems as if he thinks a few up in advance and drops them in as soon as he can. Dont sound so "on the fly" to me anymore.

I like DC but the rest are terrible when it comes to us. They get players mixed up, they dont even care and they make stupid statements like....gee the guys look tired, now that in itself isnt the problem BUT at the 25 minute mark of the last quarter....ofcourse the players are going to be tired!

He's always done it, but he's really flicked the switch to vaudeville lately.

I miss Bruce.

DC is the only commentator I like.
Agreed.

Bruce and Sandy were good along with Dennis. At the moment, 10 and 9 have woeful biased commentators. Eddie's voice seems to screech when he gets excited. (Unless that's Sam giving him a BJ under the desk) ;)

Another gripe is when they kept calling us "The West Coast"

That sounds more like a Newspaper than a football team. Do they ever say "The Collingwood" or "The Essendon"? No, it's always The Magpies or The Bombers. Would be nice if they could call us The Eagles instead of The West Coast.

The West Coast

Couldn't agree more GoEagles. "The West Coast" really annoys me. Another that really annoys me is "the Doggies". It's the Bulldogs.

Nah, I disagree... I'll put down an example.

You don't say "I'm going to the Brisbane" but you say "I'm going to the Gold Coast".

Correct, when talking about a place. We are a team, not a place. We are the West Coast Eagles just as you are you are the Fremantle Dockers. We are the [u[the[/u] Eagles as you are the Dockers. And we are not the West Coast, just as you are not the Fremantle.
