I was just goin over the Collingwood website and came across this thread:

We need an attendance of 53,609 to break the all time yearly attendance record set by Essendon in 1998. I think we can do it, so make sure whatever your doing on the weekend, you come to the footy on sunday!!!!

I would expect us to get it next year though... Team on the rise, MCG at full capacity for the whole year (which it wan't this year).

That record is always going to be a Collingwood record. I would expect reasonably high membership as well (just over 40,000). After a good year and the promise of an even better year, people will come in their droves to be a part of it.

It wont happen. Lets also remember we played our first 3 games at the Dome so anything could have happened. It will be broken next year, dont worry.
