Impossible to know that far in advance. But there's zero chance before 2030. Despite 2 months ago many here had us vying for finals next year and contending in 27/28.....

Can we? Yes. We "could" win it in the next 5 years. But there would need to be some big changes with how we are coached.

You mention compromised drafts but I don't think that we lack drafted talent. And good players are available all throughout the draft.

Xerri, Larkey, LDU, Curtis, Sheezel, Wardlaw, McKercher, FOS, Comben... individually, these guys wouldn't just be getting a game on good sides, they'd be considered stars or young stars. The first 5 guys could all be AA on a good side, right now, based on ability. Comben in the right defense would look great.

We have 5-10 other players who are developing and have a lot of potential. Then we'll add a couple more this draft. And maybe we'll even compromise next year's draft with Harris and McCartney.

Access to talent isn't the challenge. Using the talent and getting talent that fits together with system, structure, discipline and leadership is our challenge. And that's something that can change relatively quickly if you have the right people leading the side.
