Can we win the flag?

It can be done, but our franchise player (Neitz) is way past his best so i could say not really at this moment (prove me wrong lads!). As soon as someone puts their hands up as the real deal as a matchwinner, then i think we can give it a fair dinkum shake.

No, Melbourne are over-achievers as it is, so no flag for the Dees. And people, no need to hav a go at me or Carlton here, it's an honest post about the thread topic. Dees will finish about 11th.

Honestly, we are so better than your miserable lot, this post made me laugh. And "oh, don;t have a go at me! or Carlton." If we are 11th place, seriously, the Carlton must be looking at relegation to the VFL coz your side is 10 times worse than our.

Your dreaming. 4th or better.

No offence Swans fans but if Sydney can win the flag, a lot of teams can (my team excluded), and Melbourne have enough talent, along with St. Kilda, Geelong, Sydney, WCE, Adelaide, Brisbane, Port, North even, all you need is a good run of injuries, a little bit of luck (look at Sydney v Geelong), and some confidence going into the finals (look at you guys in 2000)

very good post,

That pretty much somes it up, capable yet still need to know whether they will get lucky with injuries, form and the like. In 2000 we werent the best team or even the 2nd best team we had good form, no real injuries and juts got on a good run all the way to the final

Dees backline not "stingy" enough.

NO.

Byron will be great for a team that finished low on hard ball gets, but until we strengthen up the back half we will be 4-10th.

Unfortunately!!!!!!!

I'd say the coaching direction could be looked at. The players seemed stale or perhaps they put too much int to the opening game. We really need a quality marker down in our forward line also. One that can really pull down marks regularly and pop them through.

Defence looks ok. I disagree. If all the same players play each week then they will build their confidence in each other. Fergy, Carroll really showed mongral in Sandy. Guess commitment is the key and a team willing to lay everything on the line for each other is what really brings out success. The difference btw bottom and top is very small.
