While we are waiting I thought I would explain the season format for this year.

Due to the number of teams, this season will be shorter. It will consist of 7 games for each team, 6 home and away games and 1 Can-Am 2 game against a team from the opposite conference (when both teams are due for a conference bye).

Tomorrow teams will be seeded from 1-7. Both Seattle and Miami will receive the no.1 seeds with the rest being chosen at random. Any team that has not submitted on time will automatically receive the lowest seeding available (multiple late submissions in each conference will be ranked by who submitted first).

The draw will then take place based on the seedings.

Unfortunately due to the number or teams and reduction of games teams will not get the chance to select to wear their Pride kit in a home game the regular season.

However in a Can-Am first all teams will have a chance at making the playoffs this year*. The top 5 teams will automatically receive a place in the playoffs and the 6th and 7th teams will have a single game qualifier following the regular season. This game will be the first to feature the "owners pick" feature that is being introduced this season. Both owners will pm me with their uniform selection for the qualifier match. This could mean that their will be a Pride vs Pride or Legacy vs Legacy or Attain vs Attain match, or any other possible combination for this game.

The "owners pick" feature will then continue in a slightly modified format through the playoffs with the highest seeded teams owner getting to choose which kit they will wear in their current round match, the lower seeded team will wear the respective corresponding kit to avoid clashes.

The Can-Am Bowl will continue in its 3 match format.

*If a team submits an entry after the penalty of being unable to make the playoffs is applied, then this will not apply to that conference.

The seedings are in, they are as follows:

Eastern
1 - Miami Vice
2 - Toronto Sixers
3 - Wisconsin Wild
4 - New York Turtles
5 - Kansas City Buffaloes
6 - Chicago Lakers
7 - Atlanta Gators

Western
1 - Seattle Space Rangers
2 - Colorado Bighorns
3 - Winnipeg True North
4 - San Francisco Kings
5 - Las Vegas High Rollers
6 - Fort Worth Troops/Vancouver Dragons
7 - Fort Worth Troops/Vancouver Dragons

These seeding have also subsequently determined the Can-Am 2 matches through the draw which was created from the seedings.

This means that we have some mouth watering matches with some including;
South Beach taking on Spokane
Liberty City versing Contra Costa County
and
Milwaukee battling Manitoba

Other features of the draw include the champions Seattle returning home for their championship celebration in week 2 against Las Vegas, and facing their Conference Championship rivals Winnipeg at home in Week 5. Week 1 opens with a blockbuster between Winnipeg and San Francisco, and Week 7 closes the season with the massive match between Miami and New York with the bookies equal favourites for the Eastern title having to wait until the final week of the regular season to meet.

What do the seedings mean? Is it just making it easy for you to fixture matches?

Was thinking the same thing. Or is it like Tennis where the players are ranked according to ability?

Purely to make the draw. Didn’t want to seem to favour anyone, so randomised all but the previous seasons conference champions.
