Being worried and annoyed about not getting to sleep will not help you. I read somewhere that the best method is not worrying about it and just thinking 'what is the worst thing that could happen? I'm a little tired the next morning?' Usually you will find that you will eventually fall asleep soon.

I used to have this problem when I was about 15/16 but now ever since I've been working full time, 3 or 4 outta the 5 weeknights I go to my partners or out to dinner or something and will be home between 11-1 and fall asleep as soon as my head hits the pillow, basically because I worked 9-5, got home, then went out again for another 6 hours. Other than that, if I have a quiet night in I'd still fall asleep because of working all day. And on weekends I usually get pissed on saturday night so I'd just pass out and wake up sunday, and sunday night I'm so bloody hungover and tired from lack of sleep that I'm out like a light :thumbsu:

Neither of those methods seem like something a doctor would suggest to combat insomnia.
Very simple. If I need sleep desparately, I can knock myself out for up to 15hrs depending on how many pills I take. If I don't have to get up in the morning, I just think **** it and watch a movie.

The best method i've heard of, minus a quiet tipple, is to relax your body starting from the toes upwards. It's muscular relaxation of hold/stress the muscle then relax. Then onto the next one.
It seems to work okay - but sometimes you just gotta accept yr gonna get stuff all sleep and deal with it. I have a night once every couple of months where I just cannot sleep and get like two hours worth.
Which sh*ts me as I hate being tired, i'd rather be hungover.

Work full time and hit the gym after work. If you're not morbidly tired after all that then you're a bloody cyborg.
