Backs : Farmer Thursty Polo

H/Backs : Deledio Moore Tambling

Centres : Collins Connors Edwards

H/Forwards : Reiwoldt Post Newman

Forwards : Nahas Rance Morton

Ruck : Gus Rovers : Cotchin , Foley

Reserves : McGaune , Jackson , Martin ,Vickery , Dea , Tuck , Cousins

* I'd like to see Cousins rotate all game off the bench with Collins and Connors through the wing and centre.
* I'd like Deledio and Tambling to rotate through the middle with Cotchin and Jackson off the bench
* I'd like McGaune to rotate with Rance , Post and Reiwoldt through the bench , Forward Flank , CHF and Full Forward.
* I'd like Dea and Tuck to rotate through the back pockets with Polo and Farmer
and I'd like Martin to rotate through the wing , middle and flank with Foley, Newman and Edwards.

That is what I'd like to see happen.

Thoughts?

i dont see connors in the centre or rance at FF and deledio out of the midfield and newman on the forward flank? edwards on the wing? just doesn't sit right other than that it seems normal as it has been

i will give you a score on what chances you have of seeing that actual line up....ummmm. you got about a 28% chance of seeing that happen

Collins shouldnt get another game i cant see were people get all the hype from.
You do realise he average just over 20 touches per game in 10 games last year before injury. Daniel Rich averaged just over 17 to win the Nab rising star in 22 games plus finals.

Now I'm not saying that Andy has the ability of Daniel Rich as he definately doesn't have anywhere near the build and is 2 years older but he has more upside than 50% of our list.

The best thing Andy has going for him is a little ingrediant the majority of players that have pulled on the yellow and black jumper on have never had and that is Consistancy , throw in his enthusiasm and we definatley have a player on our hands.

lids is 100percent mid, with a good coach making him work harder to break tags lids could become anythink, i cant wait till we have a bit of depth in the middle then cotch and lids can rotate thro the foward line for a rest

ive got nothing against white, but i dont think he will make the team unless we have injuries... id be suprized if hes still on our list in 3 years too

im not saying hes a bad player but he might find it hard to break into the midfield expecially with martin comin to the team

I thought you were going to say cinnamon....guess I was wrong:eek:

To be frank, King shouldn't be in the squad. Much prefer to see his NAB cup place taken by Taylor...just for no apparent reason other than its NAB Cup....who gives a ****.

King is way ahead of the lazy Daniel Connors who I reckon was lucky to stay on the list. King did the job on Davey and Rhyse Shaw late last year, Connors was nowhere to be seen!

Is Connors a tagger though?....no

That's like saying that Cotchin is a failure and no good and we should keep Simmonds because Cotch hasn't had as many tapouts.

Shit that is a bloody awful lineup. We'll be playing out in Nar Nar Goon in week two if we go in like that.

Centreline is borderline negligant.

Deledio on the HBF. Great, lets see him become more unaccountable and free wheeling.

This is the line up for round one of the proper season. The thread is about NAB Cup - where a bit of experimentation goes on - guys out of position, forwards down back, backs down forward, second stringers in the midfield to see if they've stepped up at all (hence Lids and Richie on back flanks to minimise damage), etc, etc.

If this is the line up for round one of the NAB then you could say goodbye to Connors, Collins, Moore, Hislop, Thomson, et al - obviously would never get another chance at the club.

Not such a bad idea though - get the team to play the game plan we want in a "real" match as soon as possible and bed it down before the season proper starts, the base we're starting from isn't good enough to piddle fart around and experiment. TW era is gone. Time for the basics to be got right.

I'm not quite sure about the whole experimentaion thing? A few years ago and I think many other clubs say that getting players to 50+ games was the thing to do for individuals and I would think as a playing group. I'm not sure if it's possible but for me select the core 22 or so over summer and give them time together as a group from the Nab cup on the quicker they can learn to read eachothers game and work as a group the better. Of course they should always be the best 22 & if your not at your best the pressure is there for your position goes without saying. Maybe leave the experimentation to the next level down until players show they can excel there.:thumbsu:

Hard to say. He had a few injuries this year. He has pace and courage and his kicking isn't bad. He's not great with the hands though and could work on his decision making too.

TAke out these three and put in Hislop on the wing Dea on the flank and astbury on the bench and i would love that team i would also take out connors and put griffiths in at FF after doing some adjusting but i doubt he'll be ready

I'd prefer King over Hislop up forward. Not a big Hislop fan. I don't like King in defence because of his risky decisions, but as a forward i think he'd be pretty good with his pace, hardness, desperation and long kicking. He's just a lazy thinker at times and attempts dangerous things. In defence it's not good, but up forward it can be more than handy. His kicking execution is pretty good normally though but you shouldn't go for low 50m kicks from the back pocket to the centre eg. against Geelong in Round 2

Agreed, and so does the coach thank god:thumbsu:
Hopefully with a new coach we won't continue to see players played out of position, still can' t believe TW thought it was a good idea to play a CHB prospect in Rance on the ****ing wing, what a waste of time in terms of possible player development. Wonder why so many juniors have failed to come through properly at Richmond.

Fair enough Cogs, but don't ever let me hear you say, "Gee, imagine if we'd played Richo on the wing a decade earlier."
