If we were more honest than that NAB Cup is a waste or our time and so we might as well give jumpers to 22 members of the public.
Clearly the RFC has never given a shit about it. Why should DH start now?...throw in the towel something epic.

We aren't going to win the NAB cup so we give some of the fringe players a chance to show they have got something to offer. For mine Connors, Hislop and Thomson all have to play.

FB: Edwards ... Thurstfield ... Rance
HB Polo ............McGuane ..... Polo
C: Martin..........Thompson .....Tambling
HF: Collins ........Riewoldt........Nahas
FF: Morton........Vickery ........ Post

Ruck: Graham .... Foley .....Jackson

Inter: Webberley, White/Hislop, Conners, Browne, Cotchin, Deledio, Astbury/Groudis/Gilligan/Nason

* Didn't put Newman, Simmonds, Moore, Tuck or Cousins in the side even though they are all best 22.
* Would only give "known" players (ie McGuane, Foley, Morton, Deledio) and players with niggles (Cotchin) short amounts of game time
* Give players like Thompson, White and Conners plenty of game time to see if they really want "it" and get them competeting each other. There is no room for these three in our best 22.
* Gave Webberly a shot because he is a much more rounded and mature prospect then our other draftees (other then Martin)

:confused:MAYBE leave the likes of Taylor, Webberly, Dea, Astbury etc. out.

They'll likely shine early and we Tiger fans will go all ga-ga and annoint them the next Mark Pitura, or Wayne Peters, or Anthony Banik and they'll be exactly that come time the season proper season comes 'round.

March champions!!!

Put the load on the juniors!

FB: Farmer Rance Edwards
HB: Webberley Post McGuane
C: Collins Martin White
HF: Riewoldt Gourdis Nason
FF: Morton Vickery Gilligan
Foll: Graham Thomson Jackson

Int: Browne, Nahas, Deledio, Tambling, Thursfield

Deledio, Tambling, Thursfield, Riewoldt, Morton, etc. are only there to steady the ship if it looks like we are going to be flogged by a huge margin, otherwise just to be used for rotations. I'd like Nahas, Nason and Gilligan to rotate with each other (or possibly try one or two of them as a small back).

I left out players who probably won't even be ready for the NAB cup (Taylor, Dea, possibly Astbury, I don't know much about him), and anybody who has a history of injury problems (sorry Cotch, but I want you to be 100% for the real season).

Possibly Cousins could get whacked in for guidance of the younger players, and Jackson could go out for Hislop?

Shit that is a bloody awful lineup. We'll be playing out in Nar Nar Goon in week two if we go in like that.

Centreline is borderline negligant.

Deledio on the HBF. Great, lets see him become more unaccountable and free wheeling.
Did you forget to read the rotations underneath the team Wally

* I'd like to see Cousins rotate all game off the bench with Collins and Connors through the wing and centre.
* I'd like Deledio and Tambling to rotate through the middle with Cotchin and Jackson off the bench

Not like you to shoot your mouth off with out thinking first. You'd be pleasantly surprised to see that at any one time we would have either Cousins, Collins, Cousins, Deledio, Tambling, Jackson, Cotchin and Foley playing through the middle and the wings. It won't be the end of the world Wally.

id be happy with any team we put in forward, providing Gourdis, Gilligan, Connors and Polak (if we pick him back up) play to see how much (not for polak) they have developed and if they can stand up to the competition of AFL football. Who knows. Polak may be back to his besta nd we could unearth a new FF in Gourdis. We need to try these things out BEFORE our season starts so that way theres no need to quit halfway through the season for playing the kids because they have already been played and we know what they can and cant do and what they are capable of.

Play the kids in the NAB cup so when our season derails come round 11, we can play the kids in the positions that are best suited to them and not playing them out of position. a la Rance on the wing, KING IN THE BACKLINE FFS. Terry Tan finally did something constructive and made King productive enought o be included in the team by making him a tagger. If only he had been played there at the start of his career maybe he wouldnt cop as much flak as he does on here.

King wouldn't op as much flak if he could actually kick and not turn the ball over. King as a tagger will fail simply by sending his opponent into the forward line and then let King continue to self destruct by being out marked or giving away silly frees and then there is the fact he can't kick.

Collins is nothing but promising. Edwards was our best player in the last 8 weeks of 2009 taking big steps as a player. Connors is lazy and soft though

I'll give you Collins, but he doesnt have the appeal to me that others on here have. Promising, but still meh for me.

Edwards wasnt out best player in the last 8 weeks. Thats just wrong. Deledio flew home in the B&F to prove it. I think Edwards just did a little more than the nothing he usually does.

Even you Madtugger would agree that that centreline is shit.

;)

Judging by our list I think Collins should take 1 wing, Cotchin will take the centre and if we want Edwards in defence and Tambling in the centre square then I think White would have to be first choice for the other wing.
So that would make a centre line of:

White Cotchin Collins

If we had Richo, he'd take White's spot

Backs: Thursfield, Moore, McGuane, Rance, Tambling, Polo, Farmer,
Connors, Edwards, Newman, Dea, McMahon & Thompson.

Midfield: Cousins, Martin, Deledio, Cotchin, Collins & Tuck.

Forwards: Morton, Riewodlt, Griffeths, Nahas, Post, Taylor, Nason,
Astbury, Gilligan, Gourdis & White.

Ruckman: Graham, Vickery, Browne & Simmonds.

Taggers: Foley, Jackson, King & Hislop.

These are the positions where the players should stay not be like shifted to Full Fwd from Full Back kinda thing. All midfielders can become taggers & ruckman can all play forward. When you look at it like this we are stocked with backman & forwards, plenty of 'em will need to impress. Taggers have all got the grunt needed & muscle, i expect full seasons from them. :thumbsu:

Best first year player: Dustin Martin
Best & Fairest: Nathan Foley
Runnerups: Brett Deledio, Ben Cousins, Daniel Jackson

Martin has played senior football before: (age 16-see Rich). Was then commented on by his coach (ex-AFL player), after the season as never having seen a player as well as Martin go into a big pack, extract himself with the ball, find space and clear. His attitude is WILLDO and he WILL play NAB.

Anyone else like to see Posty at CHF and Vicks at FF for a few months until Griffiths is right. Graham/Browne ruck through NAB cup (preseason) and IF Browne has improved, Graham/Browne are the rucks. If not, Simmo.

When Griffiths has had some games at Coburg and looks right to come in, move Vicks to CHF and Griffith plays FF.

Then the forward line has a 200cm mobile CHF, a 198cm FF and Posty can go to CHB, or become another option forward with Jack also a tall option. This makes the forward line pretty imposing IMO.

NAB CUP

HFF Morton Posty(194) Jack (193)
FF Nahas Vicks Taylor/Connors

I heard Polo was doing some forward work...anyone confirm?

Are you a chick Wally "who says Twat unless they've got one"

Collins , Connors and Edwards is a perfectly good centre line for the first 12 minutes of the Nab Cup. Get over your self. I may be repetative but your just a whiney bitch. Did you get those Whitney Houston tickets you were after of did she sell out before you got a chance?
