Cant move forward unless Burton removed.

its unlikely there will be many sackings, there will be sideways movements tho, ppl shuffled into different positions to see out contracts then removed at contracts end. This is what will likely happen with Brett

Burton welcomes the review and thinks it will validate what they are doing!
Fairyland or inside knowledge?
Just confirmation (not that we needed it) that he has absolutely no self-awareness & needs to go asap!

Feel free to prove me wrong, but Burton is the primary reason for our failure and humiliation in 2018 and 2019. His presence at the club (along with Hart to a lesser extent) just depresses me. I am seriously considering taking a break from the AFL until he is gone.
I miss the good 'ol days when a Mackay contract extension was our biggest problem :(

Seriously, how can anyone even muster the motivation to support a club when they know the club is going to fail due to the presence of a veritable cancer?

Like I said, the AFL will pretty much be non-existent for me until Burton is gone from the AFC. In the meantime, they can just continue to self-destruct seeing as that's what they are so intent on doing by not firing him.

I'll be back on board once he's gone. It's going to suck not having a team to follow in the AFL but if if they've decided that Burton is bigger than the AFC and supporters like me, if they think that continually humiliating themselves on the field and losing players who can't stand being there because of this *head is worth it just so Burton can keep having a job at the club, then they can live with their decision. I'll find something else to do with my time.

That's been me for the last 2 years.... so disheartening... Truly wasn't this bad even during the worst years of 1995-6, 2004, ~2010

Love this .
If they don't replace Burton then we haven't solved by far our major problem and it is so obvious that not forcing him out and then Campo just clearly shows what Roo said and not serious about fixing problems and turning club around.
The only problem is the longer review process happens the less good people to replace those that have to be replaced.

WE didn't buy it - the dickheads in charge of our Club did.

Most of us knew he was useless.

The incredible thing is that with all the business acumen and supposed industry leaders at West Lakes, no one ever thought seek opinions other than someone “at the AFL”.

A concern here is because of their incompetence either they will take easy way out and leave Burton there in this major role, where lots of trading etc decisions made late September -October, because not brave enough to admit stuff up in picking this walking ego .
Or panic and elevate someone there already in the boys club like Campo to this major role.
I want to believe in Roo- Fagan and Chapman will now do the right thing so we never see that incompetent walking smirk ever again at our club and we get a outsider who has fortitude and believe to steer us in right direction.

Lol you may aswell watch the clip on MUTE because his body language says infinitely more than anything that comes out of his mouth. Love how he is saying he's 'excited' by the review but at the same time he's shaking his head, classic indicator of someone lying as their body isn't able to back up the lie coming out of their mouth, it's a subconcious thing that most people have no control over. Doesn't even touch on the fact he wont look at the person or camera and the constant defensive shoulder shrugs.

I think this is a positive thing for Brett as it shows he is finally starting to realize he is clueless and full of crap.
Compare body language to earlier interviews where he has no idea yet that he is clueless and full of crap.

Is this what Chapman meant by "elite someday"?
Was that code for "More like me someday"?

Burton is a symptom not the cause.
Like I said earlier, this cancer is terminal.
We stop at Burton and it's only a matter of time before we are back here.

Geelong's GM of football Simon Lloyd was interviewed at half time last night.
He spoke concisely, clearly and sounds intelligent, we have Burton.

The 47-year-old joined Geelong after six years at Fremantle, where he was a member of the Dockers coaching staff that led the club to its first grand final in 2013.

Lloyd recently completed the AFL’s level four senior coach program and has previously held positions with Collingwood and Hawthorn.

He joined the Hawks in 1998 and served the club as development coach, psychologist and player development manager before joining the Magpies in 2005, where he was a high performance manager, psychologist and specialist coach.

Lloyd, who holds a Masters of Applied Psychology (Sport).

Burton held a position on the AFLPA and was an ordinary fitness coach.

Wow why don't you text that information to Dunstall and co ,
Just clearly highlights that his appointment was a mates boys club appointment and just makes a joke of Chapman, Fagan and even G Cornes today refuting that there is a boys club mentality in our club.

And brother of Mathew

Im just curious and serious here.

Does Burton genuinely believes he is good at his job? Does he know how many supporters have turned on him?

I mean the guy may even think he is a genius for holding onto it for this long.
He does from what we've seen and apparently he's convinced the rest of the club too.
