Fair to say it will be a two horse race out of Kosi and Ball. IMO Ball is a far superior leader.

However due to how Kosi stepped up this year when given the captaincy he may have the edge. Moreover his injury riddled body will also be a factor.

Or will the leadership group feel they would like go back and give hamill or lenny another year?

Leadership group next year will probably be

Lenny
Riewoldt
Hamill
Ball
Hudghton
Dal Santo
Kosi
Maguire?

I'd still love to see Max get the captaincy but that's not going to happen. However both Kosi and Ball are deserving of the honour and I'll be happy either way.

Even though Munga has made a good point I'd probably lean towards Kosi. Providing he has a full pre-season anyway. He made a massive impact when given the chance to lead the side. For such a young player he has been through a lot of tough times and I think that will hold him in good stead.

Ball has a mortgage on the position in 2007.

Don't they just host a raffle?

Nope, they rattle tins.

It's called the Competitive Balance Fund these days.

This place is for Saints supporters.

Rotating Captains makes this captaincy itself a joke, its like it can be handed to any player. Hammill should be the captain he should be the only choice atm.

really, wow, that's some pretty original thought you've got there. No really, i haven't heard anyone say the before, maybe you should write an essay on it..the state gov might chip in a few dollars to get that gem out into the public arena. thanks for sharing it with us, i feel so much more enlightened now.

haha, Grant Thomas is a ant compared to Rocket Eade.

you better get back to class, your ENGLISH GRAMMAR teacher is calling you and you need to get the homework for tonight.

hhmm..to reply to the topic, i'm a bit torn on it this year, I am looking forward to seeing both of these outstanding young men lead on the field but i'd really love to see kosi get a year under his belt to tear it up and show everyone he's just as good if not better (imho better) than riewoldt.

They've had many early draft picks as us but we all know Thommo won't get the credit for any future success we have.

Eade on the other hand.

If Grant Thomas wins you guys a flag I will give him credit. I respect what he has done in regards to the club's culture. I just don't think he is a great coach.

I think he is overly scrutinised but until we win a premiership it's something that he'll have to put up with.

If we do win a premiership, he'll still get criticised. In that case he'd be completely justified in giving the entire football community a big "up yours".

I'm very much looking forward to that day.

So the great Eade has got 1 side into a Grand Final. Did he win it. NO so in my book he has done nothing. So why is he better than Grant Thomas?
Oh and we dont really care if a bulldog supporter rates our coach or not

Of course you don't care, hence you not replying.

The football community is too simple minded not to be automatically swayed by winning/not winning a premiership. People now think Sydney's tactics are brilliant and Eagle's aren't up to it, one kick the other way and we'd see the complete opposite.

That being said, IF you guys win a premiership no doubt he is entitled to give me and the like a "big up yours".

IMO, if Saints want to be serious about winning a premiership than Hamill is the best person to lead the Saints, the rest are not up to it as yet.
Only problem with Hamill is he constantly has niggling injuries.
