I hope you don't mind the intrusion, but I think Green should step down at years end as Captain. His body language is ordinary and he berates his teammates a bit too much as well. He is obviously struggling to have any kind of infuence on the playing group, as they just seem disinterested.

A good alternative in my opinion would be Frawley. Frawley strikes me as a natural leader whereas Green doesn't.

There has to be a massive cleanout of senior players next year. As the commentators keep on saying for the last couple of years, it's the senior players who constantly let you down with their effort and performance. If the senior blokes are playing like that, it spreads through the rest of the playing list and creates a nasty culture.

You definitely have some super talented young blokes who have a crack though, so it's not as bad as it looks right now. if Melbourne make good trades / delistings / drafting choices over summer, then finals still isn't out of the question in 2012.

Just saw the channel 10 news and they showed a snippet of Brad Green being interviewed and it looked like he was smirking through the questions. Absolute disgrace. Step dpwn now Brad and do us all a favour. And to think I used to be one of our biggest fans...

i saw that as well, looked like there was barely any skin of his nose.. i would be absoloutely gutted and furious if i was captain of that mess

i agree, watching green today was making me cry on the inside and really hating him. yelling abuse (commands) at the kids (who were playing ten times better than him by the way) and then having shots from 50 out tight angle when he had options in the middle. He is not a captain, a 2nd or 3rd marking forward yes but not a captain.
FRAWLEY is a captain, someone not to mess with, who the players will look up to. And will be there for the next 6-8 yrs too.

He can't win either way, not that I'm standing up for him after todays performance but people complain when he's playing up the field but when he's left forward and can't get a touch because the ball isn't going anywhere near the attacking 50 he still gets berated.

Yes he was shit but if the ball isn't going into our forward line, as a forward you are bound to have a shit game.

I was more pissed off with his attitude after the match with interviews. A captain of a club who just got belted by the second biggest margin in football history, should be absolutely gutted! He looked mildly upset, even smirking at reporters questions at times.

I'm slowly coming across to the pathetic captain section of the board. Should be dumped as captain at years end, and the new coach should elect either Moloney or one of the up and coming kids as captain. Someone who at least looks like they givbe two sh*ts...
