He's played like 2 good games for us in how many years?

Let's be honest, if you've been struggling to get a game for Carlton over the last few years, you really aren't that good. To be a fringe player at his age, especially as we've been screaming out for experience, isn't the most flattering of things for him.
Obviously the coaching staff see something in his for them to keep him on the list. Let's hope we see what, or maybe even get preview tomorrow of what it is.:thumbsu:

Actually he played 3 good games last year.......and we won two of those (WB and Port) largely due to his efforts.

Had he not shut down Brad Johnson we probably wouldn't have won the WB game.

They see him as some experience in a very young squad, who is capable of playing 1-2 good games a year to lure the coaching staff into giving him another contract.

Ratts will hopefully be able to see this and won't be fooled past this year.

You're right.

He played 3 good games, the first Port game and the Dogs game being his best 2 by a long way.

But you can't tell me that 3 good games per year justifies another contract...

Probably not........but its 3 more good games than a lot of others on the list.
Blackwell (talking seniors, not Ants)
Saddington
Ackland (2 good games in the same weeks, Dogs and Port)

He is there as insurance. A guy that we know can come in and give an output of known quality.......which we all know isn't great.......but its rarely terrible.

Anderson, benjamin and the likes need to step up and will push for the tag of "depth players" but need to do more at VFL and then AFL level.
I'd have Banno on my list ahead of Benji ATM because Benji has done little at VFL level let alone AFL level.

Given then that we delist a minimum of 4 players at the end of the year (3 ND and rookie elevation for Jammo):
Saddo
Ackland
?????
Blackers
Wiggins
Banno
Benji
Bentick

He is in the gun but not a sure thing to go just yet IMO.

I hate to say it, but ask a portion of our list the same question.

Like one with the initials EB.
Hoenstly, yes, Eddie Betts is one, but Eddie doesn't play a role in which he is meant to star week after week. He is a small forward pocket player for crying out loud. It's players like Jordan Russel that are expected to play well (as they are midfielders) and don't.
