carey is a legend and u guys will do well with him he just a complete player he better than any 1st draft player go king carey

Not only is he a complete player but he's such a role model and leader to the younger players. During the pre season they played one of the younger players on him and after each session Carey would explain to him what he did wrong, what he did right and how he could improve himself. Then after the following training session he'd go over it with him again.

At least we will all be able to say that Carey won't be boooed by 2 clubs in the afl. Adelaide and the Roos.... Roos supporters will never forget that he was the face of the club for a decade.

People should give him the respect he deserves as a footballer.....

and just a question for all you adelaide supporters: don't you just love it when he still knows he is the best even after a year out of the game????? He is a legend!!!!!!

Those 2 goals he scored on sat night just about said it all, his first shot on goal in a game in over 12 months from 50mtr out straight through the middle never looked like missing, his 2nd a goal i'm sure all Roo supporters would be familiar & many would applaud was an off break from the boundary line,

That's what separates the real champions from the pretenders that certain other clubs like to put up against him,

Hey, I just posted a message on the 'Carey is not the recruit of the year' page so i feel like im contradicting myself by posting on this page now, but oh well. I just wanna say that I didn't know all the stuff about Carey helping the younger crows out and stuff like that and I think that its great. I just hope that every one forgets all the controversy from last year and starts concentrating on him as a footballer.

Wayne Carey is the Michael Jordan of the AFL he is a SUPERSTAR and will always be a SUPERSTAR You can take the game away from the player but you cant take the game out of a player

He knows how to play and once his confiedence starts to rise look out

He knows where the two big white sticks are and he knows how to put the footy right between the middle of em!!!!

He is a legend! I have done the full 360, I hated the guy with an absolute passion!

Now I think he is marvellous

. I am very glad he is playing for us, I think he will just provide so much to all of our younger players. His presence is awesome and I can hardly wait for the upcoming season.

Im the same, I never liked him when he played for the Kangaroos (probably coz he was such a good player!!!) but now i think he's ok and hopefully the younger guyz will learn a lot from him.

The sweet thang is...
Take another look at the first goal he kicked and the lead that preceded it.

I wish I could "lead" with a back related hammy like that.

I amit I was the first one to say that I would rather trade for Pavlich than Carey and make Matthew our number 1 priority. What we gave for Carey IMHO is a touch rich. I have no problem with giving the No. 2 pick but I felt it was unneccessary to give pick 18 as well. If we kept 18 we could have drafted a promising young ruckman Paul Johnson who went to WC at 26 I think.

Having said that, if we can win a premiership in the next 2 years that Carey is with us it would be all worth it.

I have faith in our Medical Staff. You need a bit of luck when it comes to injuries but more importantly you need a good player managment and if anyone can do it its AFC.

So topjars expect to see a lot more leads and goals like that mate. It will bring a tear in my eye

Keep it in perspective please, it was 4 and 20 at the time of trading.

Yeah but we all were 99.9% certain that they would become 2 and 18. Even 4 and 20 are a bit rich

Yeah, but so what if we gave up picks #4 and #20? Who knows if those guys will even pan out. There are tons of guys who went in the top 10 who never went on to be great... anybody remember a guy named Angwin?

What's wrong with giving up two shots in the dark for the game's greatest player?

We could've gotten a couple of good players (or maybe not), but they wouldn't be CHAMPIONS. Carey brings to the table so much more than just physical ability, keep that in mind. It's the same way Jordan brought a mystique to his team that was worth WAY more than just his stats.

I dare anyone to name any other player in the league who can walk out onto the ground and strike fear into every single opposition fan (and player) the way Carey can.

As previously stated a fit Carey
will be the big factor on whether
it was worth the draft picks!
The moral issue and club harmony
was the biggest risk!
That been said the true Carey
value will be teaching the young
kids around the club the ropes!
{no i dont mean off the park}
Also at North he was a great protector
on the field to young players
most opposition new he was around!
Even in his twilight years he still offers all of the above
As a true North and Carey supporter i wish him
well but geez it hurts to see him in Crow colours.
He is not in the {god-gary ablett}
situation he did not get someone killed!
