Had a look back at the leaderboard after rd11, and Guthrie's not on there. Lowest shown is Thurlow I think with 57. For Guthrie to finish on 150 speaks to an amazing second half, maybe the best of everyone. Actually, he was on 90 after rd18... Smashed the last few rounds. Carji next year?!

Blitz is a massive chance, and what a story it'd be.
I'd expect Rivers to also have a decent showing early.

I'm glad that Rivers 1st part of the season was as highly regarded by others as it was by me.

Nice one Blitz.

Worthy runner up, Mots.

Anyone got the leaderboard? Would love to know where Cadds and Guthrie finished.

No disrespect, but is anyone else surprised that Motlop finished second? I thought Blicavs, Selwood, Enright and Guthrie would be up there, I really didn't consider Motlop.

Congratulations to Blicavs anyway. Well deserved.

I don't know if it's because I'm new around here, but I have no idea what you mean...
Your post reminded me of another poster here who has, in the past, been a critic of him.

You post was perfectly fine.

Carry on.

Ahh.

See bobby, we've done this before.
That's a thread where you had to pick players who would make it to 100 games.

Factoring they can't all reach 100.
That it takes about 6 years at least to make it.
That we have to delist 3 per year (ie 18 players over 6 years)
That I'd never even seen him play.
Yep I took a guess that after a broken leg that he wouldn't reach it.

I also note that you didn't have the balls to put together a list.

Not me. Had a very good year young Stevie.

that's all good and all but just don't try and wriggle your way out of it. You have just reacted to my post by saying you never said such a thing.
As for my predictions, I did not need to worry posting in that thread as you know yourself, I often post my feeling on players who will and won't make it.
What made your thread so difficult to respond too was the fact you wanted us to name players who hadn't even played a single VFL/AFL game.

Not me. Had a very good year young Stevie.

picked him to finish 4th but at the same time, he had a turbulent season did Mots. One area he struggled with, and it's something which has been brought up in the past (his September record), he still struggled to have an impact against the better teams of the competition. Majority of his poorer performances were against the best teams and he needs to try and break that habit next year.

I thought on the whole he was consistent. I think also his bad games were ordinary so stood out.

Looking forward to the result, though at the KISS concert.
How was the KISS concert-did they play all their classics? (I have a very cool uncle who took me along to see KISS at Waverley Park when I was really young, maybe 4 or 5 years old. Remember being so terrified by people dressed as their fave band member, but way over excited by the whole thing as well!)

And massive congratulations to Blicavs.

His consistency this season was super impressive, and evident in the votes, where he was named best on ground only once, but named in the top 5 players 11 times. :thumbsu:

Oh, and well done to Enright for winning the "Community Champion" award for his efforts in educating kids about playing it safe on social media (he was also a finalist in the Jim Stynes Community Leadership award this year for his work in this area). :thumbsu:

Lucky bugger. My mum wouldn't let me go.

I saw them in about 99 and regret it.
And I saw them in the footy show. They were compete rubbish. Although they obviously wouldn't have had their usual sound setup.

But they were just stationary. Could have put statues up there.
I'll be interested to hear what it was like.

I had him amongst my top 5 on page 1 but apart from picking Blitz to win didn't nominate where the others would finish as 2-5 wasn't a clear stand out imo. Not surprised but wouldn't have been surprised if it was Selwood or Enright either.

Congrats to Blicavs. Just watched the vid of his acceptance speech, and he comes across as a thoughtful, humble kinda guy.
Impressive trophy too ...

Same, I was about 7 years old and loved them, tried to talk my folks into letting me go, but no luck.

I thought that he should finish 2nd, I just wasn't sure that he would. He had a very good year, and a very consistent one. He was notable for standing up and taking the long outside running role largely on his own during Duncan's prolonged absence. He also did well (perhaps unexpectedly) on the few occasions he was asked to take an inside mid role.

Yep, though didn't play Beth, which I believe is one of their best. Still was very good, had a great night
