What a baffling kick. None of it makes sense. The fact that he kicked it on his wrong boot even though he was in space, the fact that he actually shaped up his body to kick it to the pie player, the fact that he kicked it to a pie player who had no demon even close to him. That he walked past Neeld like some arrogant git says volumes. You may rate Cale but Melbourne don't need soft unaccountable runners in their team, they need to build their club up with more substantial footballers.
He could possibly get a game alongside his brother at Claremont...in the Magoos

Given the Morton family history with WCE (and the fact that he doesn't fit a need atm) we wouldn't look at him but he would be worth a punt by a developing club.

On a side note its amusing to listen to certain MFC supporters who a few years ago were telling us that Morton would be a superstar but now are sinking the boot into him. ;)

A good deal funnier the way you've changed your tune about Morton as soon as you discovered we're letting him go :D

Is he a case of not being developed properly by Melbourne or is he actually just not that good and a major draft blunder? In this day and age you don't expect a top 5 pick to be such a gigantic flop...
He would be an awesome netballer, he just doesn't like being touched.

If he could play in a team where he stood on the wing 50m clear of any player he would probably be pretty good

I haven't changed my tune about Morton at all.

As an early first round pick who obviously displayed ability as a junior he would be worth a punt by another club who might be able to get more out of him than MFC whos inability to develop their young players is well documented.

Do you even read posts before replying or is RAM still an issue?

I think it has to be Melbourne unfortunately. Their development and scouting in recent years has been terrible. Most club teen picks have developed better than there top 10 picks. think it is too late for Morton, too many bad habits and to many years in the system - easier starting with a young kid from draft. Lets hope Melbourne have invested in off the field and make the most of their picks this year. The Shannon Bynes trade may suggest otherwise.

we picked up Shannon Byrnes in free agency, not trade, not only to fill a role but to set an examplefor the younger guys and aid their development. this is a guy who worked his arse off to be in 2 premiership teams. I think this suggests a different approach to the last few years so hopefully our player development improves
