I bumped into Carl at Ray Drummonds in Preston not long after he was delisted last year. I said to him, 'what happened, I used to love watching you play!' he did say he will come back to the afl one day & loved his time at hawthorn and was still mates with alot of the players.

I think the thing that has been somewhat understated in response to this article is the great job our footy club has done in aspiring to look after this players' welfare post career.

Oft maligned by the supporters for 'not telling them the true story' about injuries, et al; it's great to see the club actually has a heart and cares about it's people.

Good luck to Carl - you have everything at your feet - it's up to you.

Agreed TAITA, the club could of just as easily washed its hands and said that they had done all that they could. Life is full of swings and merry-go-rounds and one day I'm sure that Peterson will repay that faith in the hawks and encourage his boys to follow the hawthorn path.

It's just fantastic to see that he is healthy, happy and enjoying life and I wish him and his family nothing but the very best.

I liked how he played last year and was wondering why he was delisted. Now I wish him back next season.
