I watched some of it, she seems like a really sweet girl but whose chances for marrying a nice straight guy may have been slightly further diminished after the 60 Mins program.
it was very strange hey why is 60 minutes interviewing the daughter?

Is there a further twist to this or the Melbourne Gangland story?

Body found in storage facility - 15 years at least 2004

A worker in the street told reporters the discovery was made after the business changed hands.
“The factory was recently sold and people cleaning it out today made the discovery,” he said.

“They saw two legs sticking out and was told the body was there for five years.”

Ten News spoke to the worker who was asked to clear the storage facility.

It’s believed he found the body inside a wheelie bin that was “stored there for 18 years”.

Why would it be gangland related? Don’t think anybody went “missing”
Could be any missing person

Could be right. Didnt want to start a new thread and this seemed topical to the time 2002-2005. If the mods want to shift it to the general thread then thats ok

There's always more to the story and a twist in the tale. Wrapped in plastic, covered in soil and leaves, stored in a wheelie bin. Reads a bit gangster to me, they like industrial estates, factories and storage facilities. Maybe he didn't get back to move the body because he was arrested for something else?

I can't get into that link Mr Crow. This one might be okay.

I actually think Roberta may have been the driving force of the couple. Ruthless and nasty pulling the strings on Carl.

Since you mentioned it. My information is that it was actually Roberta and Carl's behaviour while Carl was living with her and Dean (first husband who was close to the Morans) that triggered bad blood. While money and drugs features, there was a bit more going on just prior to Carl being shot. Dean had come home unexpectedly and Roberta walked out of the bedroom wearing expensive jewellery he'd never seen before. Apparently she had a stash of it, Carl had been giving it to her. So it's told.

"CARL Williams was shot in the stomach by Jason Moran after demanding a $1 million payment for a batch of drugs he supplied to Moran's brother Mark, Williams's ex-wife has told a jury."

When 60 Mins features on Media Watch over it, not a good look.

Don't watch it that much, but the Dhakota thing got my attention, really stunning and all around seems like a great kid. But for all we know she's loaded with a vault full of machine guns lol, imagination runs wild here.

Celebrity daughters, Dhakota and Bindi, damn, just beautiful girls.

Victoria police must have been laughing their heads off privately when Carl Williams pleaded guilty to a number of the Gangland slayings.
Any big time criminal knows the adage "never ever plead guilty" You are on a hiding to nothing pleading guilty. Things can go wrong at trial and with a not guilty plea. at least you have a glimmer of hope of getting off,.
Williams seemed genuinely shocked when Justice Betty King gave him a tongue lashing before throwing the sentencing kitchen sink at him. What did he honestly expect.?
From prison he later expressed remorse about his guilty plea, and it must have dawned on him that co-operation with police was the only way he might make life a bit better for himself and his family. Absolute folly- he should have been trying to cut deals before he was gaoled -not after,,,
His mate Mokbel also inexplicably entered a guilty plea and must have been kicking himself when subsequent events relating to corrupt drug squad police meant he would have had a good chance of beating a lot of the charges levelled against him.

Must have got some really shitty legal advice

Wait until the bullshit shows up again tomorrow night (Underbelly 3,083,745).

What odds they portray Gobbo as a starry eyed babe in the woods who meant well but ran off the rails?

They couldn't even wait until the RC findings came down. What a sick joke it all is.

Here's a new podcast with Sly and Bert Wrout. It's not bad so far, I haven't got to the part yet where Bert actually says it was Mark who killed Alphonse.

60 Minutes promotion, Daddy's Little Girl Dhakota Williams. 'She's all grown up and she wants revenge.'

Cha ching. $$$

Yeah no one has asked properly why Dhakota, who was born exactly 268 days after Mark Moran died (268 = mean gestation days also) would get a payout from THE STATE for her fathers death...

Pretty sure she would qualify in those circumstances for victims of crime compensation
