I remember seeing West Brom @ $33 a couple of rounds back and thinking we were value but I hate betting on things so far out.

We're still playing a seconds team, so don't get sucked into the notion of 'lower side, therefore they try harder' but our depth is quite good atm. Tchoyi, Dorrans, Cox, Reid etc are all very close to the starting team and are trying pretty hard to use these games to impress.

It's worth remembering that there's a Europa League place available for the winner - if Arsenal don't win it I'd like to see a WBA, Birmingham or Ipswich-type team do it, for them the opportunity doesn't come around that often.

No complaints then! How was it, apart from arctic?
Definitely not. Was sitting in the East Stand right next to the Man Utd away supporters and some West Ham nutters.

We were all chanting "We're all going on a European Tour" or "Let's go F*ckin Mental, Let's Go F*ckin Mental" all thru the 2nd half, with a bit of Blowing Bubbles mixed in.

Best atmosphere I've seen at a football game hands down.

As for the game itself, Spector put in his Scotty Parker impression, drove us forward from midfield, his future surely lies there now instead of a full back (I remember how woeful he was at RB against Giggs at Old Trafford this season).

Obinna with 4 assists, he can be very hot or cold, but as a support striker he's got blinding pace, he'll take on the full backs, and his shooting is getting better, he's got a lot of raw potential and I hope we sign him permanently.

As for Man Utd, Fabio and Evans were woeful I thought. Evans couldn't handle Cole in the air, or even when he held the ball up, hence Smalling had that job for the majority of the night. Think serious questions need to be asked about his long - term future at Utd now, don't know if he's ever going to be anything than a squad man such as O'Shea. Fabio kept slipping over all night, and when Rafael came on to replace him, Obinna tore him a new one for the 3rd cross (fantastic cross and diving header BTW).

I also thought Man Utd were going to overrun in the 2nd half, the first 10 mins you completely dominated especially down the right flank right in front of me as Ben - Haim was playing far too narrow. But we defended very well from the crosses coming in, Wally Downes has made a huge difference in that area for us.

I do have a hilarious video of our 1st goal being disallowed and the reaction afterwards. I'll have to whack it up on Youtube.

Bizarre officiating at St. Andrews. Blues have a goal chalked off for offside even though Ridgewell is not interfering with play as Friedel spills the ball over the line. Vile go up the other end, the whore is offside, the linesman misses it and he scores.

****ing joke.

Whoa those Birmingham fans totally went feral at the end - really gave it to the Villa away support! They literally needed every cop around that area.

Well done to the Birmingham fans then.....Any chance that just cost England a World Cup?? Not great timing, lets be honest.
Our lot weren't the ones pinging flares into the Family Stand.

Don't pin it all on Blues.

I'd have thought the bribing of the FIFA officials cost England the world cup more than a few pitch invasions.

I watched the game (Great game) and the aftermath, and both sets of fans are at fault. The Blues fans were indeed launching Flares into the Away section from the pitch, but Villa fans were also throwing them, too. Could be a potentially damaging event for the 2018 World Cup bid, but I still think England will win it.
