I guess that is where our philosophies differ - a flag is a flag and everyone else in that year is a loser...
Yep, our philosophies do differ.

But you would say that when you haven't contended for over two decades, let alone won anything (except spoons and #1 draft picks).

Oh, and of course there was the annaversay game in 1999.

😮😮😮

I can't believe this thread is still going. What part of Carlton are s**t aren't people getting;)
:cool::moustache:
It's the off season. This is where the Carlton folk do their best work.

All teams are equal on premiership points and all their players are having career best pre-seasons.

Oh, and there's the boy from Tasmania who is the best prospect from that state since Ian Stewart!

How's this for a mouthwatering proposition man.. Voss to throw a potential monkey wrench into the proceedings and not demand complete control of all decisions made by the players.. so the players now have an option to look for a 3rd tall as opposed to just launching it long to Haz and Charles?

but what is there to argue with?

That flags aren't the aim of every Club?
That winning flags isn't the ultimate measure?

what exactly are you disagreeing with here?

hmmm

Collingwood have lost over 25 GF - ie they have come 'second' more than any other Club and in doing that Collingwood ( despite its record of cheating in teh VFL era ( lets be honest here eh?) have managed to only win 2 flags in 64 years V Carlton's 8 in the same timeline...

give it up fella your distorted cherry picked to avoid the truth narrative is only working on fellow Collingwood one eyes - no one else .

You think we were cheating do you?
Even if we were cheating it wasn't helping us, we were still losing GF's, so cheating or not, it made no difference.

Carlton on the other hand need to cheat, as soon as the AFL put a stop to their blatant cheating, they stopped winning flags and started winning spoons.

5 spoons and 0 flags, that's 0 flags in 27 years, no cheating, no flags Carlton

Hypocritical much?

The only difference is, Collingwood supporters reference current state; Carlton folk are the ultimate pickers of cherries...

So you were s**t with or without cheating?

4 flags in 80 years is pretty s**t I guess

Some nuffie accused me of being you the other day - re.
You should feel very complimented.:moustache:

You might think Collingwood had a 'good run with injury' because Collingwood supporters don't spend all season (and off season) making excuses.
Hahah Pies fans not making excuses. I guess the whole "the umpires have an agenda against Ginnivan" thing was in my head. And no complaining about injuries? Give me a break

Surely if Carlton's game plan was as predictable as you say the Pies should have dealt with the Blues in a more comfortable fashion. Or are you saying that your defence cannot cope with such a predictable game plan?

Astute trading of draft picks by Collingwood.

Give up pick 30 this year, get a pick in the low 20's next year.

:):):)
To be honest even if this happened I don't think it would be a massive loss for us. I'd argue the extra year of development we get into Cowan outweighs the potential slide in the picks.

How much more did Collingwood need to beat Carlton by to lock in our top 4 position?

Why waste effort unnecessarily?

Carlton only managed 2 goals in 3 quarters, pretty comfortable.
Yes it was 2.11 in those three quarters and yet the game was decided by a 1pt margin. Anything but comfortable. Also proves how detrimental our inaccuracy was to our chances in that game, arguably more so then anything Collingwood did on the day.

2 goals in 3 quarters = not good enough

Sounds like another pathetic excuse.

No, it was nothing about Collingwood rising to the occasion when it mattered most, and making sure they were ahead when it counted.
