This fat pig has embarassed himself once again and I had to love it how Graeme Mcmahon said that carlton were now "serial salary cap breachers" hahaha, this makes the flag even sweeter to see those pieces of garbage caught. They are alot of hypocrites and they are no longer the most successful club in the league, the only thing they are number 1 at is - SALARY CAP CHEATING !!!!!!!!!!!!

I seem to remember a fair few people getting stuck into Essendon about any number of things, salary cap cheating included. I don't think the vitriol is reserved exclusively for Carlton. As a fan you may feel it a bit more intensely as you are on the receiving end of it.

I agree bluey, essendon fans took alot of crap from other clubs fans over our salary cap punishment but now it has been proven that carlton are not just like us , they are worse, as they have done it 3 times now ! You are exactly right TigerTank both clubs are as bad as each other and so are melbourne. Salary cap cheating is a disgrace and it just plants doubts as to whether the success of Essendon and Carlton over the last few years is really due to fair play. Both of the clubs should be criticised by the rest of the AFL for manipulating the rules and it is great that they have been caught, because for too long the big clubs have been able to get away with murder.

I don't often agree with Essendon supporters but I do on this one. John Elliott will hate having this on his head. His comments about Essendon have come back to haunt him and he also said some comments about Melbourne which I was less than impressed with. I only wish Carlton got penalised more.

Essendon did the crime and they did the time. We copped a severe penalty. We're back at squre one now in terms of "judgement" because we have "done the time"

I don't believe Carlton have done the time. They get excluded from a draft (the upcoming pre-season draft), which they were not going to compete in anyway. Even though the AFL knew about the breach, they still allowed Carlton to have 3 of ther first 15 picks ! And all they get is a small fine, which for them is a spit in the ocean.

We did the time. They didn't. Because iof this, Carlton can be ridiculed. They are a joke.

Read Servo's post in one of the other threads. He's done a better job of explaining the reasoning for not excluding them from this year's draft than the AFL and any journalist has in the last couple of days. I was thinking along the same lines as you and most people here, but the facts are that the AFL found out about the breaches after the trade week, so if they were to be exclude Carlton from, say, the 4th pick this year, they would have effectively been penalised Hamill for the breaches (as the 4th pick was compensation for losing him). Even I think that's a bit rough. But I totally agree, excluding them from the preseason is absolutely useless (and they aren't even excluded from the rookie draft

)and giving them a suspended sentence for next years draft is a joke.

This is probably the only time I will ever agree with you eastaugh. How many coaches have Richmond had in the same time that both Parkin and Sheedy have been at Carlton and Richmond?. Of course Richmond have never rorted the salary cap. Just haven't been caught that's all. Not yet anyway.
