Still looking for a pick or decent player for Rob Gray
Update:
- Desperately seeking picks between 40-80, particulary between 50 and 70. All players bar Reid and Frawley are available.
- TOM SCULLY is available. Offers welcome! Same with DAVID MUNDY, EDDIE BETTS, NICK SMITH, FARREN RAY, JOHN BUTCHER and DANIEL MENZEL. All these players will require good offers invoving top 35 draft picks.
- Willl give up cheaply:
Brodie Martin
Pat Vezpremi
Jackson Paine
Luke Rounds
Cam Richardson
Rhys Okeefe.
coool.
OK. So a couple of discussion points for future iterations of the game.
1) I WANT IN. Very seriously eager to participate in next go round. My PM box will be overwhelmed if I use the same confirmation system, so I might look at the option of trades being confirmed by both posting the trade in complete form in the thread.
2)Captain system. Everyone nominates 5 players they want as their captain, I'll randomly assign the captains to teams BEFORE randomly assigning squads. Gives everyone a good player and can be used tactically.
3)Salary cap. This one requires maths and I am an International Relations student so it is a long shot. Really no ideas on implementation but I figure it is something which could make the game more interesting.
4)Expanding lists. Not sure how people feel about this one as it will lengthen the game and incline people towards holding onto depth players and trading for them. Will extend draft.
It worked well but I can understand the burden of having to keep up with the PMs. .. You've done an excellent job with the updates BTW. ..
I could imagine you would get a lot of lists of 5 that would be pretty similar. .. You could take the top 16 or so Super coach players and do it that way or something similar. ..
This is where Supercoach/Dreamteam salary caps would be handy. ..
I would have loved to have put together a 44 man squad and tried to come up with a second 22 but can understand how it might kill the game if it drags. ..
. Still the bigger it gets the happier I amCaptain idea's pretty good for next time plus bigger squads.
Additionally the squads in this game could be revived. Eg. In 12 months time we reactivate this game. Coaches can either continue their own teams or opt to be randomly assigned to another squad.
In 12 months some squads will look brilliant, some old. Could rule a minimum of 10 delistings, and increase final squad size to 35 or 40.
This would encourage coaches to draft for the future if their current squad is poor, make succession plans, see what draft punts come off, etc.
But here is where the smart play comes in. Have the Judd/Ablett/Franklin's but also add a less likely candidate who would still be great to have a Pavlich/Brown/Bartel/Pendlebury etc. Try and figure out who others won't bid on and make them your last selection or two. That way you might not get the superstar but you can get a champion.
but I could pick
I worry those aren't very appropriate for this game, Jamo would be a bargain and guys like Carazzo overrated
With a bigger starting squad of 30 and draft picks till 44 the game would be a whole off-season affair. Trade week couldn't only be 2 weeks, the sheer volume of dealing would be amazing. Squads would have more talent. We are at 30+ trades with starting 22's and picks till 30. When you expand the lists trading becomes much more important. I can see the PM count now. Still the bigger it gets the happier I am
