When is the replacement bigfooty app coming?
Having to use the browser to read and post is absolutely infuriating, just the worst user experience possible.

Inundated with ads I don’t give a crap about, constant refreshing which removes a post I’m working on disappearing and having to start again.

It’s the most pitiful experience, I just want the app back

Nothing to do with our Board and as far as I know there won't be a replacement BF app.

It's site wide and best to post your concerns here:-

Are there any policies regarding posting LLM-generated content? I've noticed a significant increase recently. No issues with people using them to help craft a post, and it's good when people disclose their use, but when they're just copypasted it's often wrong, low effort and a chore to read. Suggest consideration of banning posts that simply copypaste.

I haven't seen much in posts themselves - do you mean images?

No, I mean where a poster has, for example, posted the ChatGPT response to a prompt/question.
I don't suppose we can stop them. If it looks like spam, hit the Report button for a mod to look at.

No definitely not spam or anything malicious, and maybe I'm in a minority here, but wouldn't want to see too many of them otherwise everything is going to sound the same.

It’s really not an issue and you may have seen a few today hence the question asked.
Really no different to non ChatGPT posts sounding the same & at times repetitive.
They are usually rare on our Board

Just scroll past if it annoys you.

It's no different to going to google, asking a bunch of questions and then posting the results. Someone asked me a question about the average tenure of coaches in the V/AFL. I could spend several hours doing every club in the V/AFL, collate all data into a spreadsheet and then do the formula to calculate each coaches tenure and and work out the averages. If I posed the same question I posed to ChatGPT, to the new Google AI, I would probably get the same information.

Is that an issue? Because I'd prefer not to spend hours of my time doing all the research and calculations myself and then posting that information on here... when I can just ask ChatGPT and it does the calculations for me.

Or do you just not like LLM responses to research questions that someone asks?

I did see your post but I've seen others as well. Wasn't personal. No issues with using it for research, as long as it's disclosed and you accept it's likely to have inaccuracies. The issue is copying the whole response word for word. But anyway, seems like I'm alone there so happy to drop it.

Nah, it's entirely understandable that you are worried. I did find several issues with some of the tenures of Carlton coaches, and one captain-coach from the 1930s was missing. The team that does the forum software should do a tag for LLM quotes that shows what LLM was used and a warning that the results might be inaccurate. Chief, can you do a feature request for something like that?

I'm not sure how it could tell that.

afltables.com is a site that contains all the different records from 1897 to today, as well as detailed player stats since 1965. I find it quite useful, have been using it for 20 years+. I'd use that before relying on ai.

Same

Just noticing the "100" reaction. It might seem like an obvious question, but just to clarify: does this mean something like "100 % agree", whereas a 'Like' means a person may like something (because of its content / insights), but it doesn't necessarily mean you agree with everything?

Exactly. You can like a post based on the effort put into it, without agreeing with every point made. It's a mark of respect.
