Don't get me wrong, I hope he proves me wrong but he'll have a lot to prove that the speed of the game isn't above him moreso than others. From what I've seen of him he thrives on the time he has at his level to execute and he needs it. He won't get it at the AFL level where a fraction of a second can change whether your possession is clean or rushed.

I do think we are getting to the stage where we can develop players for a couple of years though. There's a lot of competition for spots now.

Some players just look like that as it`s all about timing, as Rhys-Jones was not exactly quick but he was hardly ever tackled and like Pendles he just moved in his own space, so maybe just see how the kid turns out as he is highly thought of by most draft talent spotters, and if he looms as a vanilla player just remember what people used to say about our own Samuel Walsh!!!

We are situated perfectly here, with a couple of genuine bolters in the first round. Really hope Taylor is available, but it looks like there are 4 or 5 possible candidates.

Have this strange feeling someone like Goater will be available and we'll still opt for McDonald though.

It'd be classic Carlton recruiting.

Don't know.

Sometimes players just slide because each club rated just one player higher.

Sometimes stuff comes up in interviews that Phantom drafters don't have access too. Maybe he's arrogant. Maybe he told club's he didn't want to leave WA.

I like most of your guesses, but I think the Haws may take Butler instead of Howes, and they say Geel are keen on MacDonald so we may get to choose from Goater, Draper, Howes, Taylor and perhaps Knevitt, although the Cats may choose him ahead of MacDonald.

We’re primed to trade back and get another 2022 pick in IMO. Trade will happen just before our pick though as there will be a few slide. Do we want/need them? Is a trade offer too good to pass up?

I think if we trade back 5-10 spots, we’ll still get a MacDonald or Taylor type.

Bazzo with his size a very good chance to get picked in the first few tonight. NM, HAW and GEE all could do with a KP big.

Definitely don't see it as a time to be moving back, should be looking to move up if anything. 25 and a future second for Freo or Norths pick is what I'd be trying to do. Otherwise more than happy to pick at 25 (27), but definitely wouldn't be moving back when there is talent on the board that's slid a bit. Moving back takes you back into that next bracket of players and the gain isn't worth it.
