Speaking of "It's time to cut our losses"..............Horrid news about Hartlett. Hopefully it's nothing serious.

I popped into training this morning. Beautiful warm clear sunny morning (27 degrees) in Melbourne, probably only 7 or 8 people watching training. Will do my best to describe.
Session started at 10.30am. Usual warm ups and stretches.
The players broke up into 8 groups on the Pratt Stand wing, 4 groups on each side 20 metres apart - this drill was handballing to the opposite player - the gap between the groups then became 30 metres, and so on.
A criss cross handballing drill was then introduced and the players looked pretty sharp with this. They then did more handballing but in a square formation, so a bit of handballing variety was being introduced. Murphy fumbled a couple of times (may have the yips), Judd shone in this drill. Ratts and Lappin participated in this drill and let me say Ratts has not lost the touch.
The next drill was similar to the previous handballing formations but this time kicking - you could clearly hear Bomber Riley (he took most of training today) pointing out to the players "high quality skills at medium pace" - most players executed well, a few fumbles here and there, but generally a good session.
The players then moved out all over the ground in like star formation with players positioned at FB, HBF, W, HFF, FF both sides of the ground. The ball would be kicked in to a leading player on HBF who would then play on and pass to the leading player on the wing who would then run back over the mark, centre the ball to the middle corridor to a leading player from the HFF who would then find the leading forward. The ball then started from the opposite side of the ground and followed the same drill. Players to shine in this from what I saw were Murphy, Judd, Bower, Cloke, and Stevo. Again the focus of this drill was kicking skills at medium pace (a reminder for players to steady before executing). Not too many errors here, but certanly the coaching panel recognise the need to inject more skills practice into our players.
OK now to some players report.
Setanta didn't play on Sat. as he was injured - saw him in the rehab group with some tape just below the knee - he later did some sprints with the new fitness guy there. Poor guy was absolutely spent after about 10 x 200's. He was moving freely.
I have a scoop - Spoke to Hampson on my way out of training in the car park - said he was wrapped with his effort, didn't train with the main group today, suffered an injury on Sat nite (I won't say what as it's a public forum) he said he was on his way for some scans but thought it was precautionary and thinks he should be right this week.
Harlett was back out in full training and did everything - he went in last week with what appeared as tightness only and is a chance this week.
Today's session was purely focused on accurate skills at medium pace - the blokes who played Sat nite went in the rooms after just over an hour.
Judd did everything. All others stayed out for more drills, but I left after the seniors went in.
Others in the rehab group were AB, Benjamin, Wiggins (had his left thigh heavily tapped up), and Ackland. They too had to do some sprint work, other than Benji who is yet to resume running.
Fisher was missing from training - there was talk he dislocated a finger on the weekend which explains his absence.
That is all I have. Hope this is OK.
Cheers
Sounds like Fish will be O.K. if it's a finger...........it would be just our ****ing luck for Hampson to get injured.........hope its nothing.Good news about Hartlett. Not so good re Fish and Hampson

The groin is back baby! From what I've heard there was one time where he grabbed the ball from the ruck and weaved through about 7-8 blokes![]()
Pffffft!Heard today that JUDD was going 100%, and they were working on some ruck plays. From what I've heard there was one time where he grabbed the ball from the ruck and weaved through about 7-8 blokes![]()

Wangers:I don't wat to get anyone too excited but I just heard that at training today Judd was going at 100% and they were working on some ruck plays.
Anyway, without getting into details I was told that in one play Judd grabbed the ball from the tapout and proceeded to weave through about 8 'opposition' players as though they were witches hats.![]()
Popped my head in for about 15 mins to training today. Very showery day in Melbourne with about 50 people at training.
I was fortunate enough to be there to see this play by Judd and it was magical. Hadley looked sharp and was cheered by his peers for pinpointing passes down fev's throat
The SS boys were there taking happy snaps.
Some stoppage simulations, it seems, the players were engaging in from the centre wing positions and forward lines.
Following from Monday training, I noticed Hammer was not out thereThe scans may not have been good. I would say he is likely to miss this weekend, which opens the door for Aisake or Jacobs.
On closing, I noticed 'trout' Elshaug sitting on the second tier of the Pratt stand spying, as was Choco Royal in the Heatley stand.
That's all I can report.
OK Guys here is a small report about the "Judd Moment" from Jarusa which will get the juices flowing and a follow up report from Wangers for Wednesday 20th February 2008 from over on TC. Thanks guys.

When was the last time the boys trained... I had a mate ring me and suggest that one of the younger blokes who is training at the club that he knows (he wouldnt tell me who because he doesnt want to drop the kid in strife) suggets that Judd pulled up very very lame after a session either today or yesterday and the story is he has potentially done the groin again...
Now I am posing the question here instead of starting another huge scare monger thread and I would appreciate just a normal civil response from someone who watched them train either today or yesterday...
Essentially this could be my mate stirring me up but he has no reason to and it isn't like him to stir the pot anyway (not in his nature...)
Cheers.
Just scroll up a little bit & you can read the training notes from Wednesday, our last training session. Your mate is well & truly winding you up.
cheers... thanks for that... i got a little more info out of him about who the young kid was... apparently we have a hand ful of the AIS kids doing the rounds and it was one of them...
