With all their salary cap dramas, i do think that people are very harsh to point the finger at Carlton, as despite what people think, the Blues have been seriously penalised by offloading a very talented player in Justin Murphy and unable to resign a very promsing player in Aaron Hamill due to salary cap restraints. They tried doing the right think but still get their fingers burned. Despite reports to the contrary, John Elliot might be a loud mouth, but he is a decent hard working and honest man, and i don't he seriously tried to mislead the AFL with regards to Carlton match payments. Imagine if Essendon were forced to lose Scott Lucas (whom is admittedly no where near as classy as Aaron Hamill) to a rival club as they were unable to pay him due to sc restraints. And Carlton has suffered a dreadful run of injuries towards the end of the season Kouta and Braddles the most serious blows, so i think it's time people stopped canning Carlton as i'm sure they are hurting down there, but I know they won't get any more upset by stupid remarks from an alcoholic president of a rival club (Here's a hint, he had a liver problem last year)

Westy Boy must still be ticked off at that 'tragic club' jibe by John Elliot towards the Dogs, mainly because it caused a raw nerve amongst the Dogs fans (cause it was true) any club that can't win more than one flag in 75 odd years is ......

And so smart too! Remember when he ran Fosters Brewing? A huge success there...so much so that the company has only really recoverd in the last three years. Oh, and those dodgy foreign currency contracts when he was with Elders IXL...yup, totally above board there.

Yup. John Elliot....I wouldn't trust him with my loose change.

g4e,
Thank God for a sensible non Carlton supporter. Stick around I may need you!

The Blues. The best in the business.

G 4 Eva, you need your head read pal. As shinny noted, Jack Elliot is one of the biggest crooks going around, as opposed to decent and hardworking...what a laugh. He's tried to pay bradley half his salary on the sly or what he considered, money which will accomodate him for a possible coaching role at the club...he hasn't even finished playing yet...what a crock of shit that is.
Elliot is one of the most greasiest weasils in the caper.....and he had the nerve to label Essendon cheats in 93', Carlton have rorted the ****in salary cap 3 times!

Have sympathy for Carlton? Not a ****in chance. They're the scum of the earth and I wouldn't piss on them if they were on fire. Especially that swine Elliot, who definitely cost them Aaron Hamill, with his pigheadedness, not totally because of money issues.

Just have a think about what you've said Geelong 4 eva. Carlton have done the dirty 3 times now! And are only in dire straights now, by virtue of their warped president.

Rot in hell you Carlton scum and be ready for the mighty Bombers to take over the premiership race next year! No 17 is on the way baby.

HeHe - LOL Grendel

yeah well, - thats our resident comedian for you.

Funny thing is - when he's straight, hes actually worth listening to, but he's hardly ever straight, always preferring to shit-stir and act like a dickhead.

I don't care - when he plays the idiot its a laugh.

To those dear readers who thought G4E was being serious, look again! You only need to read that last line to know that it was all in jest

This is a hallucination and these faces are in a dream. A computer generated environment; a fantasy island you can do anything and not have to face the consequences.

Let's face it - most fans know that only 4 teams are likely to qualify for next year's GF - Essendon, Carlton, Melbourne and Geelong. So via the process of elimination and with any luck, the Blues and Cats will play on the last day of september. Why are people so disturbed by Carlton - Is it a case of a Blueaphobia ? I suspect many (Mostly Essendon fans) are scared shitless of a powerful Carlton army, i would almost be glad to see Geelong lose a GF to Carlton, just to tick essendon and their alcholic, no liver, fat egotistcal president off.

I can not believe G4E comments How did they get hard done by? Did you see the penalties that Essendon and Melbourne got? Carlton should be thankful they did not get more penalties like missing out on vital selections in the national draft.

Forget G4E for a second

Comparing the melbourne incident and the carlton there seems to be gaping differences.

Now Carlton were in breach of 130 000 while melborne were in breach by over a million

Lets look at it a little deeper.
Carlton were in breach because of bradly a player they had at the club for more than ten years

Now Melbourne were in breach because they used the excess money to poach other players from other teams.Ie Mitchelle white.

If my memory serves me right melbourne lost draft pick number 3 to the dockers.

And carlton have lost 2nd and third round draft picks.

Forget about the little fine

These to punishments seem very similar and if anything, cartlon seemed to cop it the worst.
Yet melbourne were in breack of nearly 10 times that of carlton and they used the money to gain players

So the question is
Has Carlton been punished too serverly?
Or has Melbourne been let off to lightly?

Well, there's one thing about G4E, he knows how to get a response.

I don't knwo what goes through his mind each day. I think, he thinks to himself :

"Hmmmmm, what will I type on bigfooty today. I want to shit-stir and piss people off, especialy Essendon supporters. So, I'll claim that Aaron Hamill is better than Scott Lucas so Essendon suporters will respond. Then I'll say how great Carlton is, becasue Essendon supporters will respond to that too. Gee, I hate Essendon so much, I'll just gear all my posts around pissing their supporters off."

Instead, G4E, if you would actually use that brain of yours for good instead of evil (for this thread you have used it for evil...AGAIN), you might be able to contribute something meaningful, instead of something designed to shit-stir. Do you honestly think we can't all see that you are just "having a go" at Essendon"

So, now that you've been "found-out", you might as well start posting things that are sensible. Despite what some people may say about you, you are actually capable of posting sensible things if you put your mind to it.

Correction - Sabre_Ac - Melbourne breached the Cap to secure JEFF WHITE, not Mitchell White, who is of course, now at Geelong. But Dan24 I have noticed a shit heap of Carlton bashing on this forum, mainly from vile bomber supporters whom seem to have a large chip on their shoulders. well I'll tell you Bomber fans once and for all, the Blues don't really give a fat rat's clacker about Essendon, they simply are trying to install a sense of history and tradition around the place (i have been inside both Optus Oval and Windy Hill and i can tell you which club is more respectful and proud of it's history - IE they still play most of their home matches at this venue) - Carlton to me, are the Liverpool of the AFL. They mightn't be the most successful team at the moment, but they are steeped in pride and tradition, unlike the money making, greedy arrogant mob from Windy Hill. At Carlton, you'll never walk alone.

True, but this is the third time that the Blues have exceeded the cap and the headline in the newspaper today said the Essendon thought that they got off lightly, which I agree with.
