can honestly see us playing finals next year.
Do you mean 2006 or 2007 because if it the former you really need to get a grip on where our club is at?

Confidence is one thing but reality is another.

I think the excitment of the recent Draft has inflated the expectations for next year somewhat already!

Reality is 2006 will be another tough year, but at least we have a few more kids to watch developing before our eyes.

I don't mind putting my neck out there for it to be chopped off, so I'll give you my ladder predictions for next year. I did one last year before the Wizard Cup and besides having Adelaide winning the wooden spoon and Carlton at 8 (Rather startling differences really) it was very, very close.

1. West Coast
2. St.Kilda
3. Adelaide
4. Western Bulldogs
5. Sydney
6. Collingwood
7. Fremantle
8. Geelong

9. Kangaroos
10. Brisbane
11. Essendon
12. Port Adelaide
13. Carlton
14. Richmond
15. Melbourne
16. Hawthorn
I'll just sharpen my axe!! Mate there are people here tempering their expectations, and you go and put "The Filth" at #6!!!
I'm confident of ONE thing Collingwood wont play finals in 2006.
I reckon we'll go alright next year,no finals but we should win more than 4,and maybe not get pounded anymore!!!

I think we can easily make the top 8 next year...maybe top 4
We have nearly the best foward line in the comp and plenty of young midfielders with improvement.
if our backline can play well and our high draft picks play we wil do well

I think we will be deciding who gets the last spot in the eight and may find it ourselves, a reasonable call.

Watched three games from the end of the season last week and simpson and bentick were ballistic (fisher v.nice and Walker went for ten bounces down the wing, Much better skills than Kouta so with more size will be awesome). Wiggins has been a bit of whipping horse for me, but he was really delivering, so he may really step up.

A LOT of people have been bringing up the point of Carltons end of season performances, we were not far off the mark, so I really feel we could do some damage in 06.

I believe a lot of blues fans while being cautious and predicting another poor season they are under estimating our position for next season. Sure no one expects our new draft picks to turn the club around straight away although Murphy will show promise in his first season, but here is food for thought:
Expected improvement: Waite, Fisher, Simpson, Carrazzo, Betts, Bentick, Russell, Walker.
Expected big year: Fevola ( a fit shag could do anything ), Whitnall( confident of big season ) Stevens & Kouta ( will both have more midfield support ), French ( more support from McLaren ) Lappin ( contract distraction put to rest).
X factor: S.O'hAilpin
Point to prove: Saddington, McLaren.
Playing for their future: Davies, Wiggins, Prendergast, Bannister, Chambers, Longmuir, Houlihan. ( All will push for selection at some point )]
These are just some of the reasons I believe we will improve dramatically next year and while no one expects a top 8 finish it certainly is a possibility.

C'mon Charlie..........back to reality please.

Whatever happens next year, we won't do it "easily" as you say.

I think we will have the edge over Essendon and Collingwood.
