Just listening to Kane Cornes basically troll Carlton supporters all morning on SEN. He's not even trying to be subtle.

Is there another sports station Carlton supporters can listen to.

Would love to start a boycott of SEN and get that campaigner sacked.
There's the new one macquarie, but it's stuffed full of the sacked SEN people and is in the 3aw family of stations so is not a lot better. I end up flicking between the two or avoiding radio altogether.

Jake Niall giving us a clip

It wasn't a bad article actually.
He covered some very valid points such as free agency going against the bottom clubs.
Yes, he did have a bit of a dig at us for poor management but the reality is we do need help. The AFL felt the need to "help" other clubs, Melbourne for example, so why shouldn't we get help too? He pointed out this fact and the compo pick for Frawley which everyone knew was a joke.
Our last 5 seasons have been very poor and if we lose Murphy too because he wants a chance of success then we may struggle to climb the ladder. If we continue to lose then we will have trouble holding onto our own players let alone trying to entice others to join us.
It is all well and good for other clubs to say we brought it upon ourselves but this doesn't stop them from picking the eyes out of the lists of the bottom clubs.

Got to say, I think Jake Niall's article is pretty good and raises valid points.
I for one would openly take a PP if it's on offer, I understand the element of pride that has been raised, and the "no handouts" but for me the sense of pride is superseded by the feeling of watching the Baggers win.

If one small element can possibly get me feeling that we faster then sign me up, and regarding the media and outside noise from toe nails like Kane, who cares what they say.
Nobody will remember what he, Robbo and other journo are saying about us now when we are winning, and we will start winning, it's just how long it takes to get there.

I've got zero issue with that article, but the Age has gone through two or three different titles to ensure maximum clicks on it.

From an outside perspective, absolutely they can give us as much shit as they like for our recruiting over the period between 2004-2014, because it isn't anything we shouldn't be saying ourselves. I'd argue that ours and others issues with recruiting between 2009-2012 were partially driven by the expansion sides draft concessions, but that merely allowed sides that were already at the top to stay strong rather than savy recruiting to be ineffective; it certainly affected us, as we couldn't pick inside the first round outside Cripps to save ourselves, but good teams find players all through the draft, and we couldn't.

I also don't see the need for him to sugarcoat an argument he's making in our favour, ie that we deserve a mid round 1 priority pick (pick 11). His priority is to sell ad space first, and adhere to the journalistic standards of Fairfax second; the article's target isn't solely Carlton fans, but the mean-spirited from other clubs who enjoy watching us plumb the depths.

Whenever you're trying to make an argument that's unpalatable to the person you're addressing, you frame the question in such a way as to ensure that they see best. That's how I see the majority of this article.

Love that Cripps is setting the standards and mentoring as well; if you want to be the best, learn, emulate and internalise from the best. Our inside midfielders will be contested animals soon enough. Proof? Exhibit A this season - Fish...

Go to the club and watch the interaction between Cripps and the younger players. They love him and he loves them. Tight group. Another reason why i'm so positive about the future

I’m more pissed with the Mark Knight cartoon in today’s Herald-Sun (page 61), which In a nod to the new Marvel Stadium naming manages to ridicule Carlton by comparing an asthenic looking Captain Carlton to a rampaging Incredible Hulk.

In the 90’s those jokes would have been on Collingwood.

Who cares?

Cheap jokes have long been Mark Knight's cup of tea.

I agree with Thomas, Cripps is the best player i have ever seen put on the Navy Blue jumper. Including Judd.
... Shit.

I love Cripps, don't get me wrong, but some of Judd's performances were beyond anything Cripps has done on a footy field yet.

He was also able to deal with having to change from being a dynamic goal kicking burst from the stoppage midfielder to a ferocious hard at it inside mid that lifted the side onto his shoulders whenever he decided he'd had enough of getting his shit kicked it.

Yeah, steady on!
I thinks Cripps is awesome, but let's face it, he doesn't have many peers at the club right now.
The rest of the team needs to catch up with him soon, or else how long before he gets tired of carrying the club?

This is the sort of feedback I like to hear. Not game day 'sky is falling' in shizer.

“I know it’s a tough situation for some of these players. If you choose to leave and win a premiership, all good and well. But if you don’t, where does that leave you as an ex-player? Who do you feel more apart of?” Montagna told Fox Sports News’ AFL Tonight.

“I would like ‘Murph’ to stay. He’s a Carlton person through and through. He’s been there through all the bad times, he’s been a captain of the club, one of the greats and I’d love to see him finish his career there.

He’ll lead us to glory... no doubt. I thank the higher powers everyday for the gift that is Patrick Cripps...
