But remarkably Walls did take that team from dead last into the finals - and they came closer than anyone to beating us in the 1995 finals and the next year (when he wasn’t coach) made the preliminary final only losing to North.

Might be his most impressive award in that case.

Yeah Kenny Hunter is one of the reasons that Carlton have a lot of supporters over here in Perth.
I loved him at Claremont and followed him to Carlton and would have followed him to Norths or Tigers if he went there.
I chatted with him for about 10 minutes at the champions of Carlton night and said that I blame him for the last years misery as I support Carlton because of him, he just smiled and said trust me the good times are just around the corner.
I remember watching Kenny Hunter play one day, out at Victoria park I think it was, and his boot came flying off after a kick and went flying into the crowd! I was in the area and it landed next to me. Naturally I couldn't pick it up quick enough to give it to him. Many years later all grown up, I bumped into him at a function I was doing security at and I brought the incident up. I was stunned when he said he remembered it with a big smile. Made my day, a nicer guy you will never meet.

I don't know how we are going to make the necessary list changes for 9,369 recruits.
I think this was just after David King criticised him for not having the tank to go with Treloar whom just prior had burned him off heading towards goal.
In fairness to King, in context he was trying to explain what another few pre-season's do for the fitness of a young player.
A few minutes later Treloar popped both hamstrings trying to do the same thing.
Dow had logged close to 15 Klms at the end of the game to lead the team in ground coverage.
He's going to be a good one is young Paddy. Get up 'em champion.
Eric Cantona did the same thing but his foot was still in the boot!

Whats frustrating me is this notion we haven't played finals since 2001 or had any form of success since then.
We played finals 2009,2010,2011 & 2013* yes we only won 2 finals but still rebuilt from last to finals.
Essendon haven't even won a final since 2004 yet they have successfully rebuilt from their drug saga cause they almost made finals this yr.
