Just watched the couch discussion, lot more in-depth/ interesting in my opinion compared to footy classified. Caro, meh, just chasing a headline, sad.
On the couch is by far my favourite footy show.

The show has always had more proper discussion and analysis than the others. I like how they show stats and behind the goals footage.

Only just discovered it and enjoyed it so far. The amount of ads toward the end of a footy classified episode does my head in!

Wayne Carey very bullish about the list. Very bullish.
I couldn't watch the game so listened on the radio, Carey even before the game was very bullish and said he has been for a while (others in the box agreed he has liked them for a while).

SEN this morning, rabbiting on about Melbourne and North like they did Carton last week. Finally get to Carlton and 2 mins later move on to something else. Basically an ok performance and to be expected after the week they had etc.

I know its how the media works, they just love to talk about the negative and not anything good etc, but geez it shits me when they move on to their next target without a word about the previous weeks team.

It's disgraceful. They scent blood with Brad Scott and will be relentless. North will turn it around. They might not have much elite talent, but they've got enough decent players in the right age profile that they will bounce back at some point. And then it will be onto someone else.

I mentioned last year how much it grated me when folks in the media would trot out the "Carlton fans deserve" or "Carlton fans want" et al.

In just about every case it was not what the Carlton fans wanted or thought, but the narrative the media was trying to spin at the time. We knew more or less that last year would go the way it did. We knew that there were reasons for McKay being held back. We knew SPS hasn't had a pre-season yet in his young career. Yet the media speaks on behalf of the fans to tell Carlton that we're all pissed off at them and we're demanding more.

Just about every opinion a media personality has held the last 3 years has been the direct opposite of the fans true feelings. Piss off you media bugs, you don't speak for Carlton fans.

Only Carey Brereton Maher Wallace and to a lesser extent King on mainstream media that have had the insight of our list build with common sense and stuck true to their opinions through out the journey, every other journalist has been either super critical or all of a suddenly praising the list and our development, already noticed a couple have suddenly started rating everything better than what they've said consistently ...

'he's been there since 2015' is so disengenuous and then the fox staff writers run with it. Perfect opportunity for them to clarify that his first season was 2016...

Found it interesting that Judd confirmed what a few of us have been saying. 'the coaches had to pull the players back from working too hard.' - it certainly looked like we were trying too hard the first 4 weeks. Probably contributed immensely to the awkward decision making and play style a bit over that period. Good work coaches for identifying that and seemingly fixing it.

Nick Reiwoldt as well.

Heard him on SEN the past few weeks. He liked us even when we were losing, thinks we are completely on the right track list wise.

Could be part of that overcoaching perception you were getting; players trying too hard, thinking too much.

Definitely was, don't know if part of the over training was down to coaches though ;). Will never know. It's good to find out that they identified it and we can move on with a bit more confidence.

To my mind the thing that was happening was they were trying so hard but not enjoying their football. That really seemed to change from the start of the match this week. Then as that slightly more relaxed approach started to pay dividends it caught on right through the playing group. Suddenly they had time and timing and patience to build.

Just glad we aren't playing Norf this week.
