'he's been there since 2015' is so disengenuous and then the fox staff writers run with it. Perfect opportunity for them to clarify that his first season was 2016...

Found it interesting that Judd confirmed what a few of us have been saying. 'the coaches had to pull the players back from working too hard.' - it certainly looked like we were trying too hard the first 4 weeks. Probably contributed immensely to the awkward decision making and play style a bit over that period. Good work coaches for identifying that and seemingly fixing it.
It was one problem I was able to deal with successfully during my football career. I found it very easy not to overtrain.

Sounds like I was ahead of my time ??

I'm not in the business of spending years potting journos because 'he/she said this and that', in the end they are doing their job creating stories in a sport where realistically... there is nothing happening. Nothing happens Monday-Thursday unlike all the American sports but they want to saturate the media just as much, even though games happen during the week, transfer periods etc. At the moment the footy media is growing at a stupid rate yet the stories aren't. So they revert to shit like 'player access' being a huge priority when realistically the fans couldn't give a **** who they see during a half time interview or a roaming Brian segment.

Anyway. This situation with Caro I'd usually not care about but it really does shit me when she backpedals and refuses to admit she's wrong. Like honestly, have a laugh and take the piss out of yourself. "Okay Juddy you win this one, I was a bit silly and jumped the gun when I named SPS and McKay, I didn't do my research and after last Monday I did check the numbers and noticed I probably targeted the two wrong boys, I'm glad they had big games on the weekend", and just move on. They act like they're in the business of saving lives with how serious they all take it.

Liked the first paragraph, but this stuck out at me.

You seriously think anyone'd give her credit for it if she did? More like people would use the situation as ammunition when she makes a point next time, as an opportunity to shut her down.

Yep, saying you're sorry, admitting you're wrong and taking the piss out of yourself goes a long way in this country.

Also Harry had a limited pre-season the year he was drafted because of a back issue and was managed very carefully in his first year because of that.

It's disgraceful. They scent blood with Brad Scott and will be relentless. North will turn it around. They might not have much elite talent, but they've got enough decent players in the right age profile that they will bounce back at some point. And then it will be onto someone else.
I heard a whisper Horse Longmire will be coaching them next year.

I used to have respect Caro and thought she was poorly treated by a number of her male counterparts.

Not anymore. Can’t accept that she was wrong. Juddy roasting her again was also magic.

Nick Reiwoldt as well.

Heard him on SEN the past few weeks. He liked us even when we were losing, thinks we are completely on the right track list wise.
been great in the media since retirement.........

Caro should of done a Wallsy/WCE and said something like.... I’m taking the credit for Carlton’s win, I deliberately targeted SPS and McKay to fire them up and it worked. They played the best games of their careers and were instrumental in the blues win!! :p

I’d love to listen to a few blokes talk about Carlton for an hour but I had to turn it off after ten minutes. My pet hate is hearing people use 150 words when it could’ve been said in 15. When Andy Maher is the most concise man on the panel you’ve got issues.

She sh!ts me at times, but objectively I think that as a female she does a great job in an industry dominated by blokes. Not just blokes, but a lot of them retired player alpha male types who would be ready to nod and wink knowingly if she were to show any chinks in her armor. She is aware that she can't afford to readily concede ground to these guys. Not even our Juddy. I don't blame her.

Can’t think why I’m blushing atm :relaxed: ... Tbh, on this board I often post a lengthy contribution, only to have someone else cover the exact same point with half the words, or less. Hopefully, I’ll improve with practice and time.

I think the 360 segment with him and Bob Murphy on Wednesday nights is a good watch ... followed by Professor Kingy and Sellers immediately afterwards. Imo, it certainly beats hands downs the Tuesday lineup, with cousin Jack and Treloar. Tbf though, I suppose it’s a much easier gig when you’re an ex-player, rather than a current one.

It all depends. The English language is a sophisticated tool and if the "extra" words make for more compelling, specific, amusing or elegant expression, they are not wasted words in my opinion. Sometimes brevity is more elegant but other times it's just laziness or lack of care to express oneself fully.
Of course if the "extra" words just amount to nonsense, bluster, drivel or pointless repetition, then it is indeed wearisome to read or listen to.
