That quote is not originally from Bolton.

The club picked it up from an earlier publication.

My memory is not great on exactly who or when, have had no luck finding it so far. I'm pretty sure it comes from a foreward to a Carlton publication and might have been penned by someone like Mike Fitzpatrick.

Could it be possible that out of 60000 members someone has hearing difficulties and they are just trying to publish content suitable for people of all abilities?

Why the hell do subtitles bother anyone?
