So why did the club appoint Teague when our CEO and board expected the team to play finals when they sacked Bolton?

The club under achieved last year having won 7 out of 17 games. By the end of this season Teague would’ve coached 50 games with a list that is more mature and containing more depth than Bolton had.
No more excuses. Liddle, Judd,Campbell, The Judge and Lloyd selected Teague. In Judds own words someone with training wheels on!
It’s finals or bust.
There's 17 other teams viaying for spots in the 8

Weiters on GuesSEN ...

Interesting and damning read...not surprising as it matches what we would have expected watching our games.

We are dead last for pressure in the competition and for tackling differential over the first 2 rounds. We have also conceded the most points from turnovers.

We all saw how Richmond and Collingwood were able to transition the ball with ease and how our midfield applied very little defensive pressure on the ball carrier, leading to lace out passes to their forwards.

We are far too easy to play against right now.

Weiters on GuesSEN ...

I liked his final simple question answer

Look good on Weiters, he speaks well and he's been pretty good the last 2 weeks.

But yeah, as a whole it's pretty concerning to need a 'rev up' and to 'respond' after only 2 weeks of a new season...and 2 'big' games against VIC rivals in Richmond and Collingwood at the MCG in front of crowds again, Thursday night footy to kick off the round.

If the players can't get motivated for these kinds of games then when do they? Maybe Teague needs to do the old fashion rev up before the games to 'pump up' the players and help get them in an aggressive mindset but that's not sustainable, it's up to the to players and our leaders in particular.

I really, really don’t like a team being “ shamed” into playing good footy. The culture has to be ingrained to perform every week

Yep, Richmond have it.

Despite 3 flags in 4 years they look just as hungry this year. They also always look very relaxed before games, cameras show them joking around but they know how to turn it on once the game starts and it now seems so ingrained that it's just how they play.

Unfortunately we really don't have that culture still.
