Would Josh Fraser be the first ever Collingwood player to coach (albeit temporarily) Carlton?
No, it would be the third time this has happened.

Dan Minogue (Coached Carlton from 1929-1934) - Played for Collingwood from 1911-1916.
Percy Rowe (Coached Carlton in 1937) - Played for Collingwood from 1920-1923 & 1927-1928. 2x Premiership player.

They should go after Matthew Nicks

Big name coach rescue missions rarely work these days.

Carton need to accept where they are at, and bring in a coach that will build a new team, and give him time to do so.

Might mean following the Melbourne/Richmond model, and fire-sale-ing the remaining list quality to start with a blank canvas.

There is no band aid ever made that can fix this sort of issue

Working for Gold Coast and North right now.

Is it?

Clarko is in his FIFTH year, in a list stocked with top 10 talent and priority picks, and has them sitting in 12th.

The Suns and Dimma have one of the most talented lists on paper, and are in 6th.. Sitting three games adrift of the best team in the comp. 14 x 1st Rounders since 2020 (majority in the top 10), most of our clubs would KILL for that sort of talent

On the flip side:
Sammy Mitchell took a list that all said were Spoon Worthy in 2022. The only top 10 talent is Watson (5), Ward & McKenzie at (7) and has had deep finals runs in the last 2 years, currently looking good this year.

Steve King Fire Sales the Dees "Stars", renews the game plan in 12 months, and has them looking far better immediately. Sitting 7th on the ladder

Longmuir and the Wharfies is the right example of how to do it. In his sixth year now, he has Gone 12th-11th-5th-14th-10th-5th and Now sitting pretty in Second. he has built that team, and they are playing to a premiership standard currently

Lightening rarely strikes twice with the storied coaches. (Lethal Aside), there have been very few fairy tales, and a lot of failures

Oh yeah the guy who got his players to take an untested substance he invested in and was trying to get other members of the club exec to invest in too?

The guy who injected too much Melanotan II and had to be treated for priapism?

The guy who let his coaches inject herexelin, a banned peptide, on club premises that was sourced from another club employee?

Yea that guy. Get him in there.

The Carlton supporters who made jokes about Hird during his involvement in the drug scandal, and he now could end up coaching them. Hows the irony 😅?
We all know Sheeds and the other geriatrics would never let him go...
