Carlton/Optus/Dome and VFL?

Do you think Carlton could afford to run a VFL side out of Optus Oval and the AFL side out of the Dome.

I know they aren't doing well at the moment, but I think it wont take them very long to become a force again.

They could still play the Blockbusters at the G againt the other Big 3.

Carlton would surely almost fill the Dome for every game no matter who the opposition is u think?

Also they would get a good deal with Collo in charge of Carlton and Telstra Dome.


I dont understand why Collingwood or Carlton dont run a VFL side out of there Home Grounds.

I wouldnt mind it... could be a bit more expensive paying extra players... not a bad idea, although i would much rather 8 or 9 games at the G, and 2 or 3 at optus for historical purposes... im sure we could attract a crowd there then (we only got 20,000 against the bulldogs, yet we have 33,000 members...)

Another idea is that Optus becomes home of VFA football, as well as Carlton FC, and Carlton plays reserves games as curtain raisers at both Optus and the MCG... that would be great, preston could play at optus i guess in the VFA (assuming Phil Cleary gets his way and re-names the VFL back to the VFA, as it should be)
