Kanga Blues too good for Hawks

Yes, you read that right. All three teams had a bye in the VFL this weekend and combined for a scratch match at Ikon Park.

Carlton and North Melbourne combined forces given their lengthy injury lists to take on a normal-looking Box Hill Hawks side.

Mitch Lewis made his return from a concussion for the Hawks in what was a good sign.

Carlton small forward Josh Honey kicked three goals, while North’s Will Walker also kicked three.

Jed Anderson was also prolific for the Roos as he continues his return from injury, while Blues draftee Jack Carroll was listed among the best players.

You would have to think the MC will surely have to start rewarding Honey with a game in the seniors with his continued goal kicking form. Time for the MC to be brave and give at least Honey a chance in the seniors.

Looking forward to seeing Charlie in action.

Looks like a really even spread of contributors. Honey, Ramsay, Cottrell and Parks really pushing for selection by the looks of things, with Carroll and LOB not too far behind as well.

Charlie Curnow played in a scratch match today and got through unscathed.

Word is 'he is ready.' Could have been playing a month ago but has been held back by the club with a really conservative approach.

He will likely be given another week of match practice/VFL form to get his conditioning right.

The match was played with a handful of Demons, Hawks, Pies and Carlton players.

Josh Honey looked great again. Dangerous as a forward.

Jack Carroll and Sam Ramsay ticks as well.

Great post! Thanks mate. Did LOB play?

These are the 4 players I’d love to see play seniors before end of season.
