THE CARLTON Reserves have made their second acquisition of the off-season, officially securing Francis Evans to the football club.

With 34 games of AFL experience, Evans featured at the elite level for originally Geelong and then Port Adelaide as a small forward.

Francis Evans signed.

I love what we're doing with our VFL team for next year. Adding heaps of former AFL level talent. Should make us a lot better. We really want a VFL team that can go deep in finals.
We want a VFL side that’s competing in finals so our developing players get used to success.

THE CARLTON Reserves have added to their pool of recruits for the 2025 season, adding Cooper Vickery to the fold.

Spending two years on Sydney’s AFL list, Vickery largely spent his football for the Swans playing across half-back in the VFL, while also having the capability of playing higher up the ground.
Drafted with pick No.27 in 2022, Vickery is no stranger to the VFL competition, playing 27 games for the Swans across his two seasons - including 17 of 18 games in 2024.

There was some talk on looking at C.Vickery post his Swans delisting. Inness would have some intel here and a possible AFL target if his form warrants it (potential AFL pre-season training as well joining up with the other VFL sign-on’s).

By my understanding the Blues have signed 23 VFL players now, so why not pick a 23?

In the Herald Sun this morning it says the Carlton VFL side has signed Jack Polkinghorne from Division One Premiers Old Scotch in the VAFA. It says he was signed after Christmas and has been training with the squad, finishing third in the 2km time trial. Maybe one of the half a dozen or so VFL players that trained at the open training session last Saturday. It also includes another two signings: Zac Harding a ruckman from the Murray Bushrangers and Wodonga Bulldogs, and Taj Logan a midfielder from the Northern Knights

Yup, you can see Jack regularly wearing #41 in the footage (Duffy also sports his #41, but there's a clear height difference). In extremely good nick and clearly puts everyone else to shame in terms of running mechanics/technique.

Seems an extremely capable runner, if not super quick, but might be carrying a bit too much muscle for an outside role presently.

Frank the Tank was looking quicker off the mark, but ironically not an endurance beast.

Anyone get to see it? I liked reading the summary, and some of the highlights were promising.
One newchum was a lad called Stirling Phipps-Parson, who has played with Old Xavs and Sturt. Not many other nuggets, alas.

Just went looking for VFL schedule for 2025 and found this.

Just wondering if there is a simple summary somewhere, and of it's worth being pinned to the top...

Anyway, looking like being a good year for the VFL side. Looks like some really good signings...

According to this, our next and first VFL match is vs Richmond at 11am on the 14th at Ikon.
Interestingly, they listed Lemmey and Charleson in the bests in the last two games against Sandringham and North.
