what if the data says he hasn't improved this year? Would you keep him for another year?

It's a line ball call and given we don't have access to that data I would look at one more. Two pre-seasons under his belt
and tbh I'd be shocked if his numbers weren't at least a bit better this summer than last.

Ultimately I do put this sort of stuff at the recruiting door, the club needs to be very careful about what it is being seduced by when looking at potential draftees.

It's all very well to see the talent and listen to the promises coming out of his mouth but it's folly to believe emphatically that "don't worry we'll fix his tank".

I like HOK - showing enough for us to persist with as he shoudl make it

Lemmey Ok too - depending on how the season progresses he should be given games towards the end

Wilson looked ok but not sure if he necessarily deserves a call up - but if he did I woudlnt be saying its undeserved

Gee I'd like to see more from Moir - I hope it clicks for him eventually

Something would have to have gone horribly wrong for him not to improve this year. Effort and ethic aren't his issue, so if he doesn't improve his numbers at all, then that is on the coaching/fitness staff.

Given I liked your post I obviously agree but I would give him next year (this is only his second) to see what he can do with it. Just turned 21 and the HP staff will have enough data to know if fitness is improving well enough year on year.

However if he hasn't stepped it up measurably and isn't getting games next season then it's time to move on.

I don't disagree. List has other issues that need addressing before Moir gets delisted completely from the club.

well. Yes. It's also how we got Cripps though.... 'fatty doesn't have the tank'

I realise it's a relatively short amount of time since Cripps was drafted but the game has changed since Cripps was drafted.

The last 3 to 5 years have seen an insane change in the attributes required to make it at the AFL level.

There's been a lot of players come in with similar perceived weaknesses to Cripps since he came in and fall out rather quickly. In many ways Cripps is the exception, and the unicorn, rather than the rule.

Agree he's an exception. Most freaks are.

I think Billy needs a game, maybe in a couple of weeks to give Carrol a rest. Pace is something we lack and he has it. Also his kicking looks much better than last year. Has the penetrating kick that fast players generally possess. Last year it was very hit and miss.
