what if the data says he hasn't improved this year? Would you keep him for another year?
It's a line ball call and given we don't have access to that data I would look at one more. Two pre-seasons under his belt
and tbh I'd be shocked if his numbers weren't at least a bit better this summer than last.
Ultimately I do put this sort of stuff at the recruiting door, the club needs to be very careful about what it is being seduced by when looking at potential draftees.
It's all very well to see the talent and listen to the promises coming out of his mouth but it's folly to believe emphatically that "don't worry we'll fix his tank".
